Rosanna still hadn't been able to hear even a snippet of the Monkey's new song and production for it was under way. Unfortunately, they wouldn't be able to record it until they got back to the studio in the United Kingdom which elongated the amount of time it would be until Alex allowed Rosanna to hear the song.
They were on the brink of the end of the European leg and were prepping to head over to Australia to soak up the sun and get their feet sandy. It was sad, getting ready to play the last show in Europe, it always had some of the most enthusiastic crowds and by far the most beautiful places to visit. Alex decided to take Rosanna on one last date in Portugal before they left after a long string of memorable dates all across the beautiful continent of Europe.
"I'm really setting date standards for meself aren't I?" Alex chuckled as they walked hand in hand along a Portuguese beach, the sun setting behind them and casting breathtaking streaks of light in every direction.
"Just a little," Rosanna smiled and wrapped her arm around his waist. "But I don't care, you could take me to the tip and I'd still enjoy it."
"Perfect, now I know our next destination," Alex said cheekily, looking down at her.
"Oh shut up," Rosanna laughed and knocked her head on his shoulder. He chuckled and hugged her tightly to his side. He looked over at her and couldn't stop himself from staring. Her face was glowing golden yellow and the sparkling makeup she'd applied on her cheekbones made her shimmer like the stars. The light caught her perfectly and redefined her carved features. Her silhouette shone and her dark brown eyes gleamed a twinkling honey colour. Her hair, blowing softly in the ocean wind and the dimples on her cheeks, creasing her skin softly.
She caught his glance and smiled nervously, "What?"
"I'm sorry," Alex chuckled. "How'd you always catch me?"
Rosanna smiled, "you do realise I can't keep my eyes off you either?" Alex chuckled at that and kissed her temple. They walked up to a nearby rock wall and sat down on one of the boulders, facing the wavering sea.
Their eyes glued on the setting sun and their hands interlocked as they sat side by side, heads resting on each other.
"Remember the day we first met?" Rosanna said.
"Of course I do."
"And we were sittin' on the grass, pissed off our faces whilst our friends disappeared for the rest of the night?" She chuckled.
"And I told you I liked your name?" Alex smiled, reminiscing. "And you said you hated it and wished your parents had named you summat 'more interesting' like Lolita or Arabella?"
"How'd you remember?" Rosanna asked, smiling so widely her cheeks hurt.
"How could I forget?" He chuckled. "You were so animated the entire night and you wouldn't shut up about how you hated how people called you 'Rose' and 'Rosie' because it 'made you sound like an elderly woman' and so I told you I'd call you 'Ro' instead and then you said you loved me."
Rosanna laughed and swung one of her legs on top of Alex's. "I really do though, always have. No one else ever gave a damn what I said because they said it was stupid. And then you come along, stranger danger, and say you'll call me summat else just to make me happy."
"I'd be lying if I said I don't think I'd already fallen for you on that night," Alex hummed and placed a hand on her knee. "You made me laugh like no one else could."
Rosanna smiled, "and we stumbled out to the taxi's and you told me you'd call me but you didn't even have my number."
"Lucky Matt got yer friend's otherwise I'd have lost ya" Alex said. "You know I couldn't stop thinkin' bout you?"
