Today I will go on a date with Singto. I woke up with that thought in my brain and my mood immediately got better. I woke up around 8 o'clock and found messages from Singto piled up on the line.
Are you awake?
You haven't forgotten our plan, right?
You won't wake up late on our historic day, right?
'Alai wa?!" I thought at that time.
We made a promise to meet at a café near Lumpini Park for lunch and he had been pestering me to get up since 7 this morning. I couldn't help but smile as I responded to Line's message from Singto before he was furious about it.
I have woke up ... Of course I won't be late today. This is our first date outside of work right ?!
Looking around my apartment, I can't help but feel satisfied. I just moved to the apartment a few months ago. Because the shooting of the film series had an outrageous schedule I decided to stay at the condo, leaving my family's home in a middle-class housing complex in a busy suburb of Bangkok.
I try to go home every few weeks, if the schedule allows. Being a good son and brother is not easy. My younger siblings will call several times a week sometimes to confide in their lives, sometimes only to tell about their siblings' feuds.
Mother would call on the weekend when everyone gathered at home and realized that one of her children was not within her probing radar range.
I opened the curtains and let the natural sunlight come in and warm the bedroom. I like it when I lie in my bed at night and smell the sun on the sheets and pillows just like at home when my mother takes out all the bed covers and exposes them to the sun.
Preparing to make a simple breakfast menu I stuck my cellphone in the small cupboard on the stove and contacted my mother via videocall. Last night I called Mother and told her that I didn't go home today and promised to replace it with dinner together on weekends. But I know today he will feel a little lonely because of my absence.
"Mae ..." I say when my mother's beautiful face appears on the cellphone screen,
"My child ... What are you doing calling mom so early in the morning?"
"Aw ... I just want to talk to you ..." I said, taking out a packet of soup cream and opening the package, "Is dad leaving yet?"
