Zane ran down the pathway, eyes clenched shut. His father and him had been arguing... again. This time, about Zane's grades. He had gotten ONE B+ and his father had blown up. Apparently, he HAD to get straight As EVERY DAY or else he was a complete failure. As if Zane didn't think that every day! Lately-

WHAM!

Zane slammed into someone he couldn't see, someone a bit smaller than him. He opened his eyes and blushed. It was Kawaii~Chan, an adorable friend of his.

"Zane~Kun? What's wrong?"

"Uh, it's-it's nothing..."

"Zane~Kun, you were running at the speed of light and you were almost crying, Kawaii~Chan could tell. What's wrong?"

"I told you, it's nothing."

He stood up, brushed off his black jeans and helped her up. But she didn't let his hand go.

"Zane~Kun, just know that I'm always here for you... I care about you a lot. You can come to me when you need help."

She smiled radiantly and his heart skipped a beat.

"Th-thanks. I'll try."

She held his hand all the way back to his house.
