Draco's POV

The last two days turned out to be much more torment than I'd first anticipated. Looking down at Granger, passed out, partially from being so hungry because I'd noticed she hadn't eaten much and she'd grown thinner, also because I fell, also because she'd been so tired from all the sleepless nights according to Potter and Madame Pomfrey.

Looking down at her, so small, so vulnerable, so in pain. I felt an ache tug deep down where my icy heart was. It was my fault she was in pain. I'd hurt her before, but nothing as extreme as toying with her emotions. That was just plain cruel, and I realised as I looked down at her pained, pale face with very dark circles underneath her eyes and her cheekbones, I realised I'd almost near broken her.

She didn't deserve it.

————————————————————————
I went back to the hospital wing the next day to see Granger sat up in her bed, reading, with her pyjamas still on.

She jumped when I sat on the end of her bed.

"Morning Granger," I drawled, chomping on a green apple.

"Good morning Draco. Come to taunt me?" She said, voice hard.

"What? No. Don't tempt me." I responded and inwardly cringed afterwards, but I supposed I just seemed cruel to her on the outside.

"Please, just go," she said quietly, returning her attention to her book until I grabbed it and snapped it shut.

"No." I said simply.

She got up out of the bed, pyjamas shorts dangerously high and she went to get dressed.

When she returned, she looked a little calmer so I nervously approached her.

"Granger, come on. I'll take you back to Potter," I said, unable to take the resentment out of my tone as I said Potter.

"I'll manage on my own thank you," She said stiffly, but she tried to be polite as she could.

"God Granger, you aren't making this easy, are you?" I said frustratedly.

"What Draco? You clearly have no interest in me, so leave me be!" She burst out, finally losing her cool.

"We can't be lovers, maybe we could be friends?" I suggested.

She fixed her blazing brown eyes on my grey ones and studied me hard, trying to find some untruth in them perhaps before she said,

"Why would I want to be friends with someone who constantly humiliated me, belittled me, made me feel unworthy and someone who tricked me into losing my heart to them, only to snap in two, rendering me extremely mistrusting and unable to cope. You almost broke my spirits Draco, and nobody has done that before. I might be able to forgive you but it takes deeds Draco, not just words," she said to me seriously and solemnly, making a speech of it.

"Anything I can do, name it." I whispered.

I took my hand in hers. She didn't pull away, but she just let her hand remain limp, and I knew getting her to even remotely trust me again was going to be a task, but the better side of me said she would be worth it, so I was willing to at least try.

A/N: these are somewhat short and I'm sorry if they're bad. Constructive criticism please! No hate! I hope you liked the chapter nevertheless and I hope you're enjoying my story so far! I am really into this and I think it'll probably be as big as His Gryffindor, Her Slytherin. I've developed more as a writer! Hope it shows! Enjoy! Anyways, love you all my BonBons!
