An icy cold bench pressed against his back. His head lolled side to side, flashing in and out of consciousness. Metal restraints were clipped his wrists and ankles, holding him in place. Screams surrounded him. "Liz...lizzz..." Cody mumbled through his teeth. He was weak. His powers drained. He heard alarms and saw flashing lights all around his chambers. His restraints released him and he crumpled. "SYSTEM OVERLOAD! SYSTEM OVERLOAD! RESTRAINTS RELEASED! SHUTTING DOwn..." The computer suddenly caught fire and started to mumble strange things like "purple dinosaurs" or "cheese sandwiches". Cody tried to walk to the blazing desktop. He made two steps and heard another scream. He immediately felt stronger and ran to the computer. He absorbed the flames. "Liz! I'm coming!" He ran to the origin of the screams. A hard object was brought down on his spine and he crumpled to the ground. He looked up and realised he was surrounded. Something was bubbling in his heart. Heat spread throughout his body. He let out a scream and waves of flame surrounded him, setting fire to the guards. They started to put themselves out but Cody was already gone. When he reached the room where Liz was kept, he was too late. She laid on the ground with a bullet hole in her chest. "No...No...NOOO!" He ran to her side and hugged her body. Tears streamed from his eyes. The salty droplets dripped into Liz's wound. Skin began to form and a sharp CLINK was heard as the bullet popped out of her body.
"Did you miss me?" Cody looked deep into her eyes and kissed her. "I'll take that as a yes."
"How did this happen? You were dead?"
"Right now we have to focus on escaping. Well discuss this later." They both stood up and made their way towards the exit.
