7 ~ Lilith

Did I forget to mention that I'm a super smarty pants? There was not a doubt in my mind that the 100 was mine. Everyone's heads whipped around to face me. I just shrugged and went back to drawing on my shoes. Class ended and we all went back to our cabins. On our way there, Corbyn ran up next to me and said, "Hey, are we okay?" I shrugged him off and kept on walking, picking up the pace so he couldn't keep up with me. "Lilith." He said putting his hand on my shoulder. "Look Corbyn. Just be at the spot, same time as normal." I walked away and went straight to my room. I knew that Sophia and Margot wouldn't be in here right now, they would be hanging out with their friends. I took out my phone and scrolled through the texts I miss from Jonah. It was mostly pictures of Star and little updates on her. God I miss them.

Diner came and passed. Everyone was getting into pajamas when Margot and Sophia walked in and slammed the door behind them. "What is going on with you Lilith?" Margot asked. "What do you mean?" My heart began to race, I wondered if they knew about me sneaking out. They are the kind of people who would snitch on me and I really didn't want that. We had class the next day and as much as I hate to say it, I would really like to go and get college credit. "What I mean is, why do you have a problem with me and Sophia?" I let out a sigh of relief. "I don't have a problem with you guys. I'm just not a people person." "Well you seem to be a people person with Dick Reid." "Shut up Sophia. You don't know what the hell you are talking about." "Look, we all got off on the wrong foot. Let's start over. Hello Lilith, I'm Margot." "Did you not just hear what I said. Not a people person." I turned to face the wall and I heard them both sigh. "By the way Margot, your shirt is on backwards and Sophia, don't throw stones from glass houses because we all know you and Jaxon are dating and have won cutest couple for 3 years. And rightfully so." I slightly turned and saw both of them smile at each other.

I made it to the top of the hill and Corbyn was already up there. He was pacing back and forth. "what's up Besson." i said sitting on the ground. I pulled my box of cigarettes out of my pocket, ready to open pack 2 of this summer. He knocked them out of my hands. "Hey! What the hell was that for?!" "Why are you ignoring me?" "I'm not." "Really, because I was trying to hang out with you all day long and you kept looking at me like I was dog shit on your shoe." "No I haven't" I said as I crawled on the ground to find the small bx. "Lilith, stop lying ot me." "Wow, you really don't give up do you." I said grabbing my treasure and returning to my spot. "I just want to know what I did wrong." "I don't know. Maybe because I'm part of "that crew" I was just meaningless in your overall view of the world. Ya know, it's a jungle out there, and some times different species shouldn't be near each other."

"Oh my god Lilith. Are you really gonna let what Izzy said ruin what we have right now?" "Yes! I don't know if you know this or not, but Izzy is out to ruin my life. I called her a bitch and she turned the entire fucking school against me. Do you remember that conversation Corbyn? Or maybe you couldn't hear me with your head so far up Izzy's ass?" "Lilith, you don't know what you are talking about." "Uh yeah I don. You are getting all cuddly with the girl who ruined my life." "Well the same could be said for you miss high and mighty. I'll have you know that Dick cheated on my sister and ruined her life. Do you remember that story, or where you too busy with your head up your own ass." "Oh my god Corbyn. You know what, I really regret coming up here. I could be back in my cabin looking at pictures of Star since Jonah keeps me updated on her." "Oh yeah. Okay. Just run away from your problems you little pussy."

My body reacted faster than my mind. Before it knew it, I had pulled myself against Corbyn and I was kissing him. He kissed me back and soon enough, it became a full on make-out session. We carefully got onto the ground and I wrapped my legs around his waist as he halfway laid in the grass, still wet from the rain. I felt his hands move down to my hips and just before he could move them any lower. I pushed him off of me and onto the wet ground. "Don't every call me a pussy again." I walked off into the night with the smuggest smile on my face.

I got back to the cabin and decided to take a shower. I ran the water and stepped under the stream of hot water. Feeling it's warmth, I felt relaxation rush over me slowly. When I was done, I stepped out and pulled on my pajamas. I carefully walked back to my room, getting on my bed a plugging my phone into the long charger I brought. I checked to see if Jonah had sent me any messages. Yep. 15 messages in fact. He knows me so well. I read through them and looked at the pictures. Today marks Star's 4 months of being on this Earth. The last message Jonah sent me said, "She is out like a light. Only 43 more days to go until you'll get to see her again. Goodnight beautiful. 💕"

I smiled and put my phone away. I thought back to that kiss that Corbyn and I had just had. It was the best one of my life. I felt y phone buzz and I picked it up. I looked and it was a text from Dick. "You up?" I sighed and respond, "Yeah. But, we need to talk." "What is is babe?" I typed as fast as I could because I know how it feels when some one is taking forever to respond to text. "Look, I just don't think this is gonna work out. You are a great guy but I just don't think a relationship where the other person's main goal is to ruin your life like their sister could possibly be good for anyone." "Lilith. Babe. Please." "I'm sorry Dick. But we just aren't meant to be." "Can I at least get an explanation?" "I feel like I did a good job but OK. I've found someone else." "Who?!" "That's for me to know, and you to find out. Goodnight Dick. Hope you and your bitch sister rot in hell. ✌"
