Kate's POV

I stared at him with my eyes wide open. My hair was everywhere, my clothes were a mess, and so was I. I knew this would happen! I had to get out of this situation- and fast. Me being me, The only thing I could think of doing was mumbling:

"Wrong person. Bye!"
I ran off as fast as I could to the room I was given. I ignored every word he said and kept running. This was my life from now on. No, this IS my life from now on! I'm going to be constantly running away from people now. Once I reached my room, I shut it very quietly and hopped back into bed. I sighed deeply, thinking of my old house and how I could walk to my room.

At this point, all I could think of was Matthew knocking on my door. I waited and waited for that dreaded knock, but I fell asleep waiting instead.

__

The sun was in my eyes. I forced them open and looked around. I'm not used to being here yet. I'm used to seeing torn-up posters in a small room and a computer by my feet. While my mind dozed off in thought, there was a knock on the door and I readied myself in fear.

"Come in," I said, a little scared of it being Matthew. "Oh, good morning." I sighed with relief as I saw Laurel walking into my room. "Good morning, sweetie! How did you sleep?" She asked me.

"Oh, I.. I slept, alright!" I chuckled nervously. "I'm glad," She said, taking a seat on the edge of my bed.

She sighed and turned to me. "I think it's time you met my son."

My eyes were the widest they have ever been. "Y-your son?!"

She chuckled. "Yes, my son. You didn't meet him yesterday, remember?"

Maybe I didn't. Maybe I dreamt that I meet Matthew. Maybe... I am just convincing myself it was a dream. "No, I don't think so," I replied.

She smiled. "Okay! You go get ready for the day. You'll meet him after." She smiled at me again and left my room without looking back. I got up and looked into the small mirror on the wall. Lord, I am a mess. I walked back to the cabinets that were in front of the bed and opened them. Honestly, I opened the cabinets because it was a habit. I didn't expect all my clothes to already be in them! How spoiled can a teenage girl get?

I picked out a pair of jeans and another T-Shirt. It's my go-to outfit if you couldn't tell. If I was staying in the house, I would have picked out a large shirt and some shorts, but my plan for today was to go out and get myself familiar with the area. I picked up my clothes and walked over to the bathroom.

Only to realize that I have no idea where the bathroom is.

I walked around that hallway for a while, hoping that the bathroom was open so I could just peek in and not have to open any doors. So much for false hope. I opened every door in the hall slowly and peeked in only enough to see if it's a bedroom or a bathroom. After opening the, I don't know, 4th door, I turn around and bump into somebody.

"ow," I say, rubbing my nose.

"Ah, I'm sorry!" spoke the 'somebody.' I was looking down and tending to my sore nose.

"No, please don't apologize! It was my fault I wasn't looking at where I was going, really! I'm just a little lost and I was looking for-" I finally look up near the end of my sentence and it was made obvious that last night wasn't a dream.

"Matthew." I gulped.

"It took you long enough to realize. Y'know, you're adorable when you ramble on." He chuckled. I looked at him a little, taking in features of him I didn't notice before.

"Your hair is wet," I spoke. He nodded slowly, in an 'it's obvious' kind of way. "can you show me where the bathroom is?"

"..right, my mom must have forgotten to show you," He said, swallowing hard on the last word. He stared at me for a while and I scrunched up a bit.

"um," he spoke after what felt like two minutes. "yeah, follow me." He turned around and guided me in the direction of my room.

"Are you kidding me?" I spoke when he showed me where the bathroom was.

"What?"  He asked, obviously confused. The bathroom was two doors away from my room on the other side of the hallway I didn't look in.

"Nothing," I sighed. "anyway. Thank you for showing me." I turned around and smiled. I turned back around within a couple of seconds and slammed the door once I walked in. I leaned against the door and sighed. It was close to my room.

I set my clothes down on a counter in the bathroom and looked around. You can really tell the value of this house just by looking at it. This bathroom is entrancing! I would have never imagined I'd walk into a bathroom this huge. I got ready to shower and frowned. I forgot to bring a towel. No problem! This bathroom must have towels in the closet.

I rummaged through the bathroom closet and found only bathing products and soaps. Not a single towel. Are you joking? This bathroom looks like this and there's not a single towel? I sighed and closed the closet door. I walked out of the bathroom and back to the room to find a towel. After about a minute of searching, I found my towel in a cabinet closer to the window.

The holy grail.

I walked out of my room and shut the door behind me. At the same time, the door in from of me opened, and out came a confused Matthew.

"Why were you in there? I thought you were taking a shower," he asked.

"This is my room. I was... looking for a towel in the bathroom, but there weren't any, so I looked in here." I smiled awkwardly.

"Your room is in front of mine? I thought it was down the hall.. y'know because you were all the way down there,"

"Your room.. is in front of my room?" I asked, cutting him off. "Yep." He replied with a smile. I furrowed my eyebrows in thought and my eyes widened with realization. I ran back to the bathroom and shut the door.

Laurel said she had a feeling, that she just had to put my room there. I shook my head and took my long-awaited shower.
