"Okay everyone, pick yours partners," my teacher said. "Ugh, why can't she just pick for us" I thought.
Freya excitingly skipped to Kol. "Hey, do you want to be my partner for ball dancing?" she giggled, which made me and him uncomfortable.
"Nah," he said, and walked my way.
Suddenly, another girl walked up to him, and asked , just like Freya did, to be his partner. But just like what he did with Freya , he brushed her off with a "nah." Suddenly, another girl went up to him. And another. And then almost half the class was around him, desperately trying to ask him to be their partner; however, he turned all of them down.
While all of this was happening, I kind of dosed off. "Why do they like him so much," I asked myself, "what do they even see in him?"
Before I knew it, he had rejected all of their requests and was still walking
towards me. Without even saying anything, he grabs my hand, and quickly walks to the middle of the gym. "Okay so now what?" He asks the teacher. "Mr. Adler, actually, the girls have to ask the guys to be partners. However, if a guy wants to ask a girl, she must approve." my teacher said to him.
He looked at me. "We're partners , right?" I didn't know what to say. "Uhh.." was all I could stumble out. He looked confused.
Everyone was staring. "We're, partners, right?" Kol said again, this time sounding more frustrated than usual.
Awkward silence.
How awkward.
"I think that means no," a voice said.
