Maxon's POV ~
How could she tell me that? When I wrote to her, I could be the Maxon that nobody saw. I could be myself. I look to my right and see my alarm clock it reads 2:18 am. I have to see her again. I have to talk to her again. I look to my left and there is nobody beside me, like every night. I get up and open up the conjoining door to Kriss' room. She's once again not in there.
I have to sleep because I have a meeting at 6:00 am. I sleep for a few hours then I'm off to a meeting. It lasts for about 30 minutes because everyone is arguing and I ended it. Once I make it to my office I begin my morning work before breakfast. Officer Montgomery who is stationed outside my door comes in and says " Your Majesty, we have an issue" "what's the problem Montgomery?" I say.
"Last night after the ball and the guards were doing our final shifts. I heard a noise coming from a closet. When I opened the door I found Her Majesty, Queen Kriss in a very scandalous position with Officer White." He said. I knew it! I knew Kriss was cheating on me.
"Thank you for telling me James. What did you do with them?" I ask him. "I detained both with the help from Officer Brooks and they are in a holding cell in the dungeon." James said. "Good work as well as Officer Brooks. I will be in the dungeon shortly." I said and made my way to the window. So instead of being with me at night, she has been with my guards?! We've been married for three years and we still haven't done anything in the bedroom. But do you see me with my female staff. Didn't think so! I've only done those things with America while in the Selection. And those were the best days of my life.
