I stood not too far away
as little angels paved your way.
You stood in a white dress.
I stare at you, my beautiful mess.
Rose petals scattered on the aisle.
I never knew anything, rather than you and I.
Do you remember those nights?
The things we did that felt so right?
Do you see through my disguise
every time you look in my eyes?
Do hear the cries I bury deep within my soul,
these sharp edges digging deep eating me as a whole?
No, I don't want to know what could have been,
the what ifs and what we could be.
If there's anything, I want you to change your mind
I want us to go back and rewind.
Please stop, please turn around.
Let it be me on the end rather than another man stating his ground.
It felt like years 'til you reached his place.
You've made your choice, let us end this race.
Let me look at you just once, for the last time.
Before I turn my back and leave this all behind.
After all, there's only much a man raising a white flag could do,
Because when you said "I do", I knew I needed to let you go too.
