Michael pulled into a parking space 4 minutes before the late bell. As soon as I got out of the car, I tugged my skirt down slightly. I slung my back over my shoulder and went to go look for my first class. The bell rang and I was lost. I ran my hand through my hair in frustration. It didn't take me long after the bell to arrive to my class.

As soon as I opened the door, the teacher stopped teaching and everyone looked over at me.

"Nice of us to join us Ms. Clifford. Why are you late, without a note?" The teacher spoke to me like no one else was in the room with us.

"I simply didn't want to be here." I sneered.

I felt a pair of eyes on me, and as I looked over, a blonde hair'd boy told me with his eyes that I shouldn't have said that but I didn't care.

"I'm not going to give you detention only because it's your first day here. Don't be late again, because I won't be this nice again, understand?"

I nodded.

"You can go sit next to Mr. Hemmings in the back."

As I walked to my seat, I kept getting strange looks from people. I shrugged it off as it was judgment for my skirt. This one girl, however, shot me the nastiest look I've ever seen.

When I say down, Hemmings introduces himself as Luke.

"Callista, my friends call me Cali." I couldn't help but zone out, thinking back to that phone call from this morning. How did they know what school I was attending? I don't know anyone in this school besides Michael, and I guess now Luke Hemmings. I tried to figure out who could have gotten my number, then it hit me..

The bell rang before I could finish my thought. I gathered my textbook, purposely leaving behind a folded up sheet of paper. I felt a light tap on my shoulder, and I was greeted by a guys broad chest.

I looked up and saw Luke's welcoming smile. "You left this behind." He tried to hand it to me the paper, but I told him to keep it before walking out.

I put up my science book after third period, reaching for my physics book in my locker. I heard a familiar voice call out to me, and as I turned to see who it was, a guy with bright red hair grabbed my shoulders, causing me to face him.

"What's up Mikey?"

" 'What's up Mikey?'? That's all you have to say for yourself?"

Michael had a wildfire in his eyes that only ignites when he's pissed.

"Okay, okay, calm down Michael. Please? Before you do something stupid. What's wrong?" I usually never get serious with my brother but he needed someone by him and as far as I'm concerned, I need to be that person for him right now.

"I'm sorry Cali, it's just-" he took a deep breath, "what did you do?"

"I don't see where you're getting at Mike."

"I've noticed people giving you strange looks from the moment we got on campus, so I asked around.."
