"That's us" Naomi stutters as we stand up to greet the doctor.
"Who are you?" He asks politely.
"I'm Naomi Jones, friends of his, we all are, his parents aren't around anymore" The doctor nods and proceeds.
"There is internal bleeding from him jerking forwards in the car, he has a broken leg and foot, he will be put in coma to help heal him. But even after surgery he might not survive
The only thing we need is a signature form someone over 18 to proceed with the surgery for the bleeding" The doctor says.
"I'll sign" Ryder says. He's 21, so therefore he can sign. Max could as well but Ryder is the leader. The doctor takes Ryder away to sign something and get details.
I bury my face into Max's chest and he puts his arms around me.
"He'll be fine" He whispers. He sits me down and lets me fall asleep with my head on his knee.
I wake up at around 3am and see that Max has fell asleep too. The only people awake are Naomi and Ryder.
"Hey you're awake" Ryder says softly and smiles a little.
"Yeah, any news"
"He got out of surgery about an hour and a half ago but we cant see him yet" Naomi says.
"By the way some girl called Chelsea said that she's sorry about what happened" Ryder tells me. I look at him confused "You know bright red hair, around 5'7" He says thinking I didn't know who he was talking about.
"No I know who she is but how does she know?" I ask him
"She saw you and said you where friends and asked why we were here. I didn't say anything about racing, just that his car leaked some petrol and blew up" I nod my head at Ryder.
"So when can we see him?" I ask.
"Not tonight but we are gonna stay here for the day" Naomi says.
"I'll drive you to school though" Ryder tells me. I nod my head and thank him.
I don't change from my clothes to go to school. I stay in my brothers. I called Marcus and said I wouldn't be able to work at the garage for a few days because Christian had an accident. He said it was fine.
Ryder parks outside the school and we sit in the car.
"He'll be fine Ry" I tell him. He grabs hold of my hand.
"I think I should be the one telling you that" He says smiling a little. He brings my hand to his lips and kisses it "He'll be fine. Just carry on with your classes and if anything happens I'll get Max and Enzo to come and get you"
"Promise?"
"Promise" He whispers. I nod my head and get out the car and sk does Ryder.
He pulls me into a hug and I can feel peoples eyes on us. He kisses me forehead.
"He'll be fine" He tells me again. I nod my head and take a breath "We still wont be able to see him till around 5pm so don't worry"
"Okay" I smile at him.
"I love you sis" Ryder says. Even though no one but me and Max in the crew are related we still think of each other as brothers and sisters.
"Love you too" He smiles and squeezes my hand before getting in the car and drives away.
"Are you okay?" I hear a voice ask before they put their arms around me from behind.
"Yeah" I say when I realise it's Josh.
"I heard what happened with your friend, I'm really sorry"
"It's okay, these things happen its not like it was planned or anything" I lie to him. Of course it was planned. Tate, Ryan and their bloody crew planned this for one of us.
Josh removes his arms from around me and we walk to homeroom. I take my seat next to him and looks towards the clock.
Josh turns to Chelsea, Grant and Ofe. I hear them say things that just sound like mutters until I'm snapped back into reality when they say my name.
"Mm, what?" I say.
"I asked if you where okay" Ofe says. I nod my head.
"Good well we where wondering if you wanted to come over to our house in the week for dinner? Our parents really wanna meet you and it could help take your mind off things" Chelsea suggests softly.
"Yeah, I'd love that" I smile
"Great, how does tonight sound?" I nod my head.
"Sure that seems cool" I tell her. She squeals.
Mr Clarke enters the room as the bell rings. Students flow in the room and take their seats.
"Okay guys normally I let you do what you want but this week is awareness week and each day will be a different awareness that some of you may come across" Mr Clarke says "Today will be able street racing and the dangers it can cause"
I sigh. What are the odds of that?
