I kissed a girl. I mean, I really, actually kissed her. I just kind of did it. I hadn't planned it or anything, I had just done it, but I think she was as surprised as I was. She's still the only person I talk too, but I'm starting to get used to having a friend. Scratch that, Girlfriend. I never thought that I could have a friend, much less a date, but I owe it all to her. She's the reason I'm not a nobody anymore, the reason I want to get up in the morning, the reason that makes me want to keep on going. She turned a shadow into light. She's the best friend anybody could ever have. She threw her entire social life away for me. We started hanging out a lot more and we held hands in public. Everybody pointed fingers and whispered behind our backs, but we didn't care. We were too happy to care. Until it got worse. People were now putting notes on out lockers and pulling really mean pranks. And then it stopped. I don't know why it stopped, but I was walking down the halls after school when I heard a scream. I knew who's it was. I dashed through the halls, pushing through kids and diving through crowds until I got outside. And then I saw her. Emily was up against a building near our school, and three of jocks had surrounded her. Her school bag was on the ground, her books strewn across the grass. She was bleeding from a cut she had above her eye. To put it in a single word, I was pissed. I ran up to one of them, and as he turned around, I punched him in the face. I kneed him in the crotch and then shoved him down. The one that wasn't holding Emily hostage ran at me and threw a punch. I grabbed with my fist, turned it in a full circle, and I kicked him down. By now I was seeing red. I walked up to the last jock, and when I was about to grab him, he turned around and Emily screamed. I don't know why, but I didn't care. I grabbed him by his neck, lifted him up and said,

"If you or your friends touch her again," I pointed to Emily "I will hunt you down, and I will kill you." I threw him to the ground, and his friends picked him up and ran off. My vision turned back to normal. I looked at Emily and saw that she was looking at my leg, her face frozen in horror. I looked down, and saw that the Jock had stabbed me. I shrugged, pulled the knife, and then threw it at the guys who were running. One went down, and I turned back to Emily. She ran up and hugged me. Then she looked at me funny, and said,

"I'm going to take you to a hospital'"

I looked at her funny.

"Why?" I said sarcastically, "It's not like I got stabbed or anything."

She pulled me towards her car.

"I'm seriously taking you to a hospital, though."

                                                                        ...........

It's a couple days after I got stabbed. Nobody got in trouble, surprisingly, but I think it's because

the fight wasn't on school grounds. Something like that. Emily had not left me alone after the fight, and I hadn't left her alone either. I didn't want her getting hurt, and she didn't want me getting stabbed. Again. But us being around each other more led to more teasing. People were now saying even meaner stuff, stuff that I'm not going to talk about. But one person, trying to be mean said that Emily was in love with a shadow. And I love her back.
