I stayed in the corner of her room, waiting for her to wake up. I glanced at her alarm clock. 7:00 AM. She usually gets up at 8:30, so I had a long time to wait. She probably had a hard night with her boyfriend dead and all. I had to be there to comfort her, especially now that i'm dead. Wait a second. I'm not dead. Well, I don’t think I'm dead...
But the more important thing is that she thinks I'm dead. I put my fingers to my temple. Mortality is confusing. I stood up and looked around her room. It was bigger than I thought. I looked at her desk. 7:13. I noticed her fish tank. She had two fish, one dark blue one, and one really bright one that was all sorts of colors. They ducked in and out of their little greek temple and weaved through their little plants. I got up and went over to feed them. She moved, rustling her blankets and scaring the crap out of me and the fish. I moved back to my corner and sat down just as she opened her eyes. She looked around her room, looking straight at me.
“John?” she asked, rubbing her eyes,
I stood up and spread my arms, showing her it was, in fact actually me.
“I'm really hard to kill,” I said smiling at her. She swung her legs over her bed and ran at me, jumping on me, giving me a bear hug and kissing me.
“I love you.” she said, still hugging me.
“ I love you too,” I said.
