Chapter 17 - The Number One School Idol in the Universe Apologizes

While the eight girls decided to go somewhere else to celebrate. Nico Yazawa, decided to just go home and think about what happened earlier. Although she's right in saying that an idol should never enter into a relationship. She should have showed some sense of maturity since she's among the elder members of Muse. Because of that she realizes why she was never able to get new friends.

Flashback:

Nico, we're sorry but we decided to quit being idols and members of the Idol Research Club.

B-but why? I thought you liked being school idols?

We couldn't take it anymore. You always set very high standards. And keep pushing us hard to beat A-RISE even if our bodies can no longer take it. We don't want you to be our friend anymore.

Sorry Nico... We've made up our minds. (both handover their resignation letters and walk out of the club room)

Nico's Thoughts:

*It was exactly 2 years ago when I lost everything I have worked hard for. My only two friends decided to resign as members of the Idol Research Club. They cited that my standards are too high and impossible to reach. They say that they couldn't take it anymore. That I am pushing them too hard. They were right about it. My goal back then was to beat A-RISE. I was so focused on beating them little did I know that there was a hefty price to pay. And then came those three. One of them was like me. But she had a simple goal. That's to save Otonokizaka from closing down. I told them that they should quit. Instead she wanted me to teach them how to be a school idol. We may have not beaten A-RISE in the first Love Live. But this time I know we will beat A-RISE. And it's all because of that girl. I will apologize to all of them. It's time to lower my pride.*

She decides to call it a day and cooks dinner for her and for her siblings. After that she does the laundry. Deep inside of her she wanted to tell her siblings that she is no longer the number one school idol in the universe. And that she has been reduced to be a backup. Even if it pains her she has to admit it. She still wants to have a little pride in herself.

Honoka Kousaka was the same as her. But after the incident with Kotori. She chose to lower her pride and convinced Kotori to stay. This is what's going on in her mind. As she tucks her siblings away in bed. Nico is faced with a decision that will finally change her life. For her this is her final chance to beat A-RISE, and become a winner herself in Love Live.

Otonokizaka High School, School Idol Project Research Club, 7:30 am

Nico was early for school so she decides to hang out in the club room for a few minutes. Then after that she heads to her class. In the classroom she didn't bother to look at Eli and Nozomi. Meanwhile at the room of Honoka, Kotori, and Umi... The two love birds are in a tight lip lock.

Uh girls.... Don't you think it's too early for that? Our sensei might come anytime.

Sorry Honoka-chan. I really miss my little bird.

And I miss my beautiful archer.

Yeah whatever. I got a date with my soldier three days before the preliminary finals.

About yesterday I.... I.... I want to say I'm sorry for acting so immaturely. Honoka-chan you are right. I'm one of three senior members of our group and yet I still acted like a child. Kotori-chan, Umi-chan forgive me for going against your relationship. I have no right to take away your happiness. You two deserve each other. And as for the rest. I'm sorry to all you. (starts to cry)

Everybody in Muse gives Nico a hug. Except for Maki, she planted a kiss on Nico's cheek. She was shocked at what Maki did to her. Even the rest of the girls were shocked as well.

Hey it's not like I'm going to say that I like you. But yeah I like you Nico. And that is for accepting your apology.

Maki-chan I don't know what to say...
