This is an ode to every version of me
That has come before and
The ones yet to arrive.
You have been gifted
You have been cursed.
Every story you are a part of
Is worth a little piece of your heart.
For you will be broken
And you will be pieced back into something more beautiful
With light entering the shell through the cracks,
Finally brightening every corner of your heart.
And someday when darkness starts consuming your soul
While the whole world is burning around you
Hold this winter close to your heart
And let it navigate you through the flames.
