I sigh as I close my computer after printing my math journal project. I move away from my desk and sit down on my bed, taking out my phone in the process. I open up 'Snapchat' to see our group chat, 'The Potatoes', has been filled with at least a dozen texts from Nash asking for help with his math journal. I'm just about to answer him when I get a regular massage from Elaine.
"Hey Maggie," it reads. I type in a reply.
"Hi"
"Do you have Gwen's number by any chance?" she asks
"No, but I do have her on 'Snapchat'. Actually, we have a group chat too"
"Oh, okay"
"Do you want me to add you onto the chat?"I asked her
"Yeah, sure"
I go back onto 'Snapchat' and click the add button and add Elaine's username. I see her chat pop up on 'The Potatoes'. I click out of it and go onto my private texts with Nash to help him with his math journal.
"Hey" I type. I see Nash's 'Bitmoji' pop-up at the bottom of the screen.
"Hi" he answers
"What did you need help with you lazy little butt"
"Everything" I sigh as I roll out of my bed and go back to my desk. I open the tray of my printer and grad a white sheet of paper. I click the call button on the screen and call Nash. I tell him to turn on his video so he can see what I'm doing.
"Okay I'm making you a cootie catcher, just tell me what to write," I say, annoyed that I have to do yet another math journal. But if I don't help him he'll most likely fail out of middle school, so I kind of have to help him.
"Um, Maggie what topic is the math journal on again?" I hit my hand on my head imitating Elaine's favourite emoji. Nash starts laughing at me, so I shoot a death glare at him. I begin to fold the paper after I so gracefully said to him "YOU IDIOT CHECK YOUR FREAKING AGENDA YOU LITTLE CHICKEN!" Nash begins to tell me what mathematical problems to write down and then he uses his phone calculator to find out the answers. After another 30 minutes of doing this, we finally finish.
"I'll give this to you tomorrow okay," I say
" Okay bye Maggie," he says. Before I can even reply to him he ends the call. I go to close 'Snapchat' but right when my finger touches the screen I immediately pull it back. Turns out my phone overheated during the call. Whoops. I wait for my phone to cool down for a couple of minutes before I pick it up again. After it's cool I take it and attach it to the charger next to my bed and, once again, lie down. Finally, I can sleep, I think to myself. Not caring that I haven't eaten or changed I close my eyes and fall asleep.

The next morning I wake up starving. I brush my teeth as fast as I can before taking down three servings of cereal and a cup of tea. When I get on the bus I hear someone call my name. It was the same frizzy-haired boy that I almost ran into a while back. What was this kid's name again, I think to myself. I know for a fact that he's in my grade, but I haven't had a class with him yet. Then it hits me. Milo, his name is Milo. I pick my seat and then turn to look at him.
"What do you need from me Milo?" I ask.
"What did you eat for breakfast?" he asks. Confused i just gave him a classic "why" which it this case meant 'why do you want to know that you little pervert' but could still register a 'are you selling this information to someone on eBay' king of "why"
"Just tell me," he says.
"I ate cereal," I say with the clear sound of speculation in my voice.
"I guess that makes you a cereal-killer" I turn away from Milo's corny dad joke and look out my window to look at the surrounding nature. I can still hear Milo laughing but i just try and ignore it. By the time he stops laughing its were already at school. I clear my mind and start to mentaly prepare myself for my daily dose of hatred towards my teacher, and walk off the the SOS™ storage box like I do every day.
