it was a cold and brisk morning in seoul. a tall boy, atachi yuto, was looking for some coffee. preferably black, tall, and to help feel alive. the only reason that he was in seoul was because of his breakup last month. it was terrible for him. he had torn himself apart after seeing that his ex, chunji, was cheating on him. it broke his heart to find that he was being used and treated like nothing.
so he came to south korea.
all he wanted was to find someone real. someone who would make him laugh and smile, someone who would kiss him and take him on dates, and not act like yuto was a burden. because all of his ex's had never done any of that. joohyeon, jonghyun, youngmin, all of them shady and relentless. the first time he was in a relationship, it ended quickly. it had turned out that minsoo was pretty much just looking for insurance money, so after yuto almost got killed, it was pretty much over for them.
the next time he was in a relationship, it turned out that the guy wasn't even gay. he wasn't even bi. he was discovering. right. either way, two days after they broke up, it had turned out that his ex was getting married. so that worked out well. and well, chunji was a piece of shit. end of the story. so with his luck, he'd probably fall in love with a serial killer. nice.
so as he opened the door to cubebucks, he didn't expect anything.
the line was huge. it was noisy and the people in the store were all wearing hats and masks, trying to show as little of their faces as possible. maybe they were all sick or something? it didn't really bother yuto until another mask-wearer bumped into him and didn't even say sorry, he just grunted. like, who does that? he finally got to the front of the line after waiting twenty minutes, in which he was ready to either kill someone or fall asleep on the floor, and ordered his black coffee.
"yoto?" a lady called out. "yuto." he took the coffee from the counter and took a sip. he stared at the wall across the room, it was a chocolate brown with a coffee bean wallpaper. although he was now awake, because he was concentrated on the coffee-bean-wall, he didn't notice a tall man walking into him. "huh?!" the coffee splashed all over him and soaked into his chest. he snapped out of his daze and stared at the man. he was wearing a black bucket hat and a jacket, and he had big doe eyes and pretty lips. he was taller than yuto, but not by much. "i'm so sorry, let me buy you another one, i should have been paying attention, i-" yuto looked up. the stranger was incredibly handsome and tall, and that face, oh that face, was so beautiful to yuto. he had fallen in love within two seconds. new record.
"oh, no it's fine! there's still some left, um, do you want to sit with me?" the man hesitated but then nodded. because the man thought yuto was beautiful. he had such a defined face with a jawline that could slit a throat. his eyes wear soft and small, and because he was shorter than him, he was so cute! the truth was, he was looking for a boyfriend. technically, he wasn't supposed to. but if his company didn't know, then what they didn't know, couldn't hurt them. oh, right, he's an idol. from the group pentagon, under cube entertainment. the reason that so many people were wearing masks and hiding their faces was that no one could know who they were. wooseok had forgotten to put his on, but since he wasn't a very popular idol or group member, it wasn't really worrisome.
but wooseok lived a dangerous life, and no one would ever find out, so it didn't worry him too much. he smiled and sat down at a table for two. he placed his hand out and said, "my name's jung wooseok." yuto stuck out his hand and shook it, replying with, "atachi yuto." so as the two began to talk, yuto began to open up like he never had before. maybe it was easier with a stranger. but as wooseok started to make a weird whistle and brass noises, and yuto started to tell his whole life story, they found themselves feeling happy. strangely happy.
wooseok let out a laugh as yuto told him a story about how he met his best friend, hyunggu. "o-oh! you're really cute." yuto turned fifty shades of red, not meaning to speak his mind like that. not to mention he didn't show emotion easily either, and much less to a stranger. because his smile was so sweet and bright, yuto couldn't stop himself.
"aw, thank you." but inside wooseok was screaming, because he was cALLED CUTE BY HIS CRUSH! yes, his crush. it was just a thing he developed quickly. with yuto's deep voice matched to his, and yuto being sweet and handsome, yet cute, and funny, he had fallen in love. and honestly, he was okay with that.
"so, um, actually, i gotta go, but could i get your number?" yuto's eyes widened and he stuttered, "s-sure! um, here, 436-738-1930." wooseok copied it down in his phone and smiled. "okay, i'll text you! maybe we can go out for dinner or something?" yuto nodded and as he watched wooseok leave, sitting still, he couldn't believe it. maybe the universe did have something in store.
