By The Way, I Like You | Stephen x Reader

Chapter Nine

Warm, fast air hit both of us by surprise. The shift in temperature wasn't expected, so we both had a shocked look on our faces.

"Well then," Stephen states.

Rolling my eyes, I walk away from the warm air and start moving through the store. I say, "Come on. Let's get the bread and head back."

In two seconds, he was next to me. His hands were in his pockets and his glasses had the gleam of the lights on them. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know," Stephen replies. He starts shaking his head for no reason. A small chuckle escapes from his lips as he starts talking. "Oh my god, how do you even make that big of a mess for subs?"

Thinking back to the mess that Daniel and Hosuh made, a smile appeared on my face. "Honestly, I don't even know. I thought Hosuh was a cook." Stephen looks at me and chuckles even more.

"He's supposed to be, that's for sure. I guess Dan got in the way and ruined everything," Stephen says, shrugging. "Then again, that does sound like something Dan would do."

We continue to walk back toward the bread section. Passing by the grapes, I snag one and put it in my mouth. My eyes scan the room to see if anyone saw and when they reach Stephen, his eyes were on mine, giving me a confused look.

"What?" I ask, my mouth still chewing the grape.

He shrugs and smiles, facing forward. "Nothing. Nothing at all."

While walking to the bakery section, I could hear the voices of a couple of people. One sounded like a girl and the other a guy. Stephen and I turned the corner for the bread aisle and we saw the two people who were talking. The girl had glasses on and was wearing a hat with her long brown hair in low pigtails. The guy also had a hat on, hiding his either dark brown or black hair underneath (1). He also had on a regular sweatshirt and pants.

"I'm just saying that we should get baguettes and surprise Daniel. He wouldn't be expecting it and his reaction would be amazing," the girl states.

The guy shakes his head, replying, "If we get baguettes, I'll eat the entire thing. Either that or I'll hit you over the head with them and we can have a sword battle."

The girl slaps his arm and turns in our direction. Her eyes widen and a high pitched squeal comes out of her mouth. "STEPHEN?"

Wait, what?

I turn my head toward Stephen and a smile is on his face. I guess those two know each other.

"Ann? Jay? Is that you guys?" He starts walking toward them and holds his arms out for a hug.

The guy, Jay, plasters a smile on his face and pulls Stephen in for a hug. "Stephen, my man, crazy to see you here," Jay happily says as he squeezes Stephen.

They pull away and Stephen instantly gets attacked by another hug from the girl (which I assume is Ann). Her embrace on him was really tight and all I could think of was that they seem really close. Closer than I would've thought.

If you don't know, Jay and Ann are both a part of the DanPlan team. Jay has the personality of Stephen, but more on the sociopath scale. Those two aren't close, but they are definitely two peas in a pod when it comes to their personalities.

Annabelle (or Ann for short), on the other hand, is one of the sweetest ones on it. She has her own channel, but every once in awhile, she will appear on a DanPlan video. Her personality is as close as you can get to Hosuh. It is like those two are twins. The only difference is that Ann is much sweeter. She is the equivalent of the sun while Jay is equally as dark as the night sky.

They let go and her smile as bright and big and perfect. She pushes her glasses up on her face and she looks between Stephen and Jay. "Isn't this great? We can all surprise Dan with baguettes!" Her cheery mood was definitely different from my mood currently. All I feel is...
