Chapter Seven: The Kanima

Hi again. Here is another chapter. This one is going to be kind of short.

Isaac and I took of running and I led the way all the way to the school parking lot. It was dark out and the stars were shinning brightly. "Were going to the school?" He asked. I smiled and kept my lips sealed.

I led him to the lacrosse field and used my werewolf vision to make sure I didn't trip over anything. "Okay, what are we doing here?" He asked. "So many questions." I said pulling him closely to me.

Our lips connected and I felt tingles all over my body. I smiled as I pulled back from him. He leaned in to kiss me again but I took off in the other direction. I laughed madly as he chased me across the field.

He eventually caught me and picked me up. He spinned me around and I giggled. We landed onto the ground and I couldn't stop laughing. I tried to get away from him but he pinned me down. I smiled as I stared up into his eyes. "Your beautiful, you know." He said staring down at me in wonder. I blushed as he leaned forward and kissed me. I laced my fingers behind his neck and smiled in the middle of our kiss. He pulled away laughed and still had me pinned down. I caught him off guard and pushed myself off the ground.

I didn't have time to run. He grabbed me and pulled me close to him. He held me in a big hug that provided me with so much comfort.

All of the sudden the lights on the field lit up. My heart beat increased as I looked at Isaac confused. "Hello Amber. Isaac." I turned behind me to see Gerard standing there. I gasped and held onto Isaac tightly. "Two in one. I have to say my odds are quite great today." He didn't pull out a weapon but I knew he had one, how could he not?

I squeezed Isaac's hand for strength. "What do you want?" I asked coldly even though I knew what he was here for, to kill me and Isaac. Gerard chuckled. "Jackson, you can come out now." Jackson appeared from behind the bleachers but he wasn't Jackson. He had scaly skin and his eyes looked weird. "The kanima." Isaac whispered knowing that I was confused. Jackson is the kanima? I can't believe this. I gave Gerard a shocked look. "The kanima is under my command now." He said proudly. I glared at him and didn't release Isaac's hand.

"Kill them." Gerard said emotionless. I held my breath as the kanima approached us. Isaac pulled me and we took off running across the field. 

I pulled out my phone and fumbled with it, attempting to dial Allison's number. I didn't have Scott's number but even if I did I would have still called Allison. I'm not sure why but she is my sister and I need her.

"Hello." I heard her say. "Allison! Help! The kanima. The lacrosse field." I tried but failed to form a sentence as I ran for my life with Isaac. "I'm on my way." She said quickly and hung up the phone.

My heart beat pounded in my head and I heard Isaac's heart beat too. I could hear the kanima close behind us as we ran into the locker rooms. I locked the door behind us and caught a glimpse of Jackson. He is the kanima, not Jackson. I reminded myself as Isaac pulled me out of the locker rooms. This time he locked the other door and we found ourselves in the dark school hallways.

I almost tripped over myself but Isaac caught me. I heard the door being knocked down and I continued to run. "We have to get out of the school!" I shouted. Isaac didn't respond but I knew he heard me.

I paused for a moment and didn't hear Jackson trailing us. "He's gone." Isaac said somewhat relieved. I knew better than to let my guard down. If he isn't following us than that means he is waiting for us. I pulled Isaac into on of the classrooms and I pushed myself up against the wall. I tired to slow my breathing as I heard footsteps getting closer. I was ready. I stood in front of the door and prepared myself to attack.

The door opened and I pounced on him. "What the hell Amber?" Stiles said from underneath me. "Ohmygod! Stiles, are you okay?" I stood up and helped him get up. "We'll other than the fact that you just attacked me, yeah I'm doing fine." Lydia came in behind him. She looked scared.

"What is Lydia doing here?" I asked Stiles panicked. Before Stiles had a chance to speak Lydia started to panic. "Where is Jackson?" She asked me. I looked over at Isaac and then at Stiles. "We have to get out of here." I said ignoring her question.

I heard something by the door and I immediatly ran over to it. I don't know why I'm being so reckless but I don't want Jackson to hurt anyone. I almost attacked but I smelt Scott's scent and let my guard down.

Scott came running through the door with Allison behind him. Allison was carrying her bow and when she came in she quickly ran over to me. She gave me a quick hug. "Are you okay?" She asked concerned. "I guess." I said locking the door behind them.

Allison looked over at Lydia. "What are you doing here?" She asked. "I want to know what's wrong with Jackson!" She said frustrated. I rolled my eyes and tried to listen for Jackson.

"I'll be right back." I said. Everyone gave me a shocked look. "You can't go out there." Scott said panicked. "I have to see what's going on." I said walking towards the door. I might not come back and everyone knows it.

I ran over to Isaac and gave him a passionate kiss. "I love you." I said running the back of my hand over his face one last time. "Then don't go out there." He begged. "I'm sorry." I left him and looked at everyone in the room. I felt a tear slip from my eyes. I turned around and reached for the door knob. Without a second thought I walked out into the hallway. 

I could feel my heart pounding and I suddenly wished I had the comfort of Isaac's hand. I started running down the hallway.

"There is no where to hide." Gerard's voice sent shivers down my back. I didn't even get far enough to see where Jackson was. I thought as I turned around to face him. He held a sword in his hands. "Now let's end this." He had me cornered and there was no escape.

"I'm your grand daughter." I said feeling a tear come down my face. He doesn't care. "No, your a monster Amber." He raised his sword and I closed my eyes. It will only hurt for a minute. I said it over and over trying to calm myself but it only made my heart beat faster. I don't want to die, not yet.

I caught him off guard and knocked the sword out of his hands. He stumbled backwards and the sword hit the floor. I bend down beside him and extended my claws. He smiled at me and I immediately got confused. Why would he be smiling? I'm about to kill him.

I heard a low hiss behind me. I turned around and saw the kanima standing before me. I quickly got on my feet and grabbed the sword on the ground. Gerard laughed. "The omega always dies." He said coldly. I took the sword and slashed the kanima across the neck. He grabbed the sword from me and gave me a wicked grin. He picked me up and pinned me against one of the lockers.
