My Mirror Image

I had been nervous for days before Hayes decided to register for school and start his first day. We made sure he was in all the same classes as me, except cheer.

He confessed to me that he'd been nervous too, hoping nobody would hate him or love him too much, except for me of course (me loving him too much). I soon realized I was putting him under a lot of pressure and we hadn't really talked about it yet. I walked over to the chair where he was sitting and sat on his lap, looking at him.

"You okay?" I asked him. With a small smile.

"Yeah I guess I'm just a little anxious. I don't know how people will react." He replied.

My parents dropped me, Hayes and Kaylee off at school and we walked in one of the doors that no one hangs out near. We walked in and I looked over at Hayes. His hands were sweating. We walked into to the main hallway and a few girls saw him and looked confused.

"Are you Hayes Gr-" a girl asked, but Hayes cut her off.

"Yes."

"OMGOMGOMGINGIFJAGALCHUAKABDJVJJSJSGP" the girl replied. " Can we take a picture?"

"Well I'm with my girlfriend right now but maybe if I see you later!" Hayes answered. It made me smile a little. He's so thoughtful.

That was how most of the day went for us. During lunch, he took pictures with a few people and then asked me if I wanted to walk in the courtyard. I got up and threw my trash away and we went outside. When we opened the door, Kaylee had a huge poster that said "WELCOME TO HERBERT HAYES!" And under that it said "free photos with Hayes here!" I was so angry because I knew Hayes wouldn't say no, so now he would have to have special treatment, which he obviously didn't want. I glared at her. I thought we were at peace, apparently not.
