As much as it was against the rules to have any form of contact with the opposing gender, that never stopped Jacob and me. As a test to see if he cared, I started something that was ours. When he'd peek over the counter top, I winked at him. I don't do that towards anyone, really. Especially since I have been heartbroken several times by other people. This time, I was sure of it that his feelings for me were real.
Another way to prove if someone really cares for you or not, is if the guy tells you the words "I love you" first.
Sure enough, those words rolled out of his mouth, containing innocence and purity. Eventually he picked up the winking thing too. We exchanged our "I love you's"...even throught the toughest of times.
