We followed Iris deeper into the woods to a big apple tree. I was disappointed because I was half expecting that there was a burger place somewhere nearby. Gina and I stood by while Iris and Ash picked apples. Iris climbed to the top as Ash and Pikachu picked at the bottom. Soon a pile of apples came down and we ran up to it and hoarded them down.

Iris came down and asked, "Where's Ash and Pikachu?" I shrugged as I kept on eating.

We're under here, said a voice that wasn't Gina's.

"Under where?" I giggled a little when I said that. I looked down to find Ash and Pikachu under the pile of apples. "Looks like the apples love you, Ash." I joked.

"Not funny," he said. "Can you help me out before the apples crush me to death?" I rolled my eyes as I grabbed Ash's arms while Gina and Axew grabbed Pikachu's. We pulled as hard as we could until they sprung out and landed in top of each other.

Man, you guys are heavy. There was that voice again.

You should be happy that you're not on the bottom, said Gina. My mind stopped racing after Gina spoke.

You guys should stop complaining, said a new voice. Now, my mind was racing like a quick attack and my heart pounded against my chest like a mile a minute.

"Is it just me or am I hearing pokemon voices? " I said, getting up.

"You can hear pokemon voices?" Iris asked.

"Of course not," I scoffed. "I can only hear Gina's voice because she can use telepathy."

"Then, it's just you," joked Ash. I punched him on the shoulder and walked to a tree and climbed to the top. "I was kidding, AK!"

"I know you weren't," I said. "I'm just going to sleep up here." It was getting late so Ash and Iris agreed to sleep here. Iris slept on the lower branch and Ash slept below me while Gina and I slept on the branch above Ash.

A couple of hours past and I still couldn't get to sleep. I stared at the stars and the moon above, deep in thought.

Hey, AK, said Gina. I glanced at her.

"Yeah, Gina?" I said.

Have you ever wondered where your parents were? she asked. I sat up and picked her up and laid her on my lap.

"Gina, of course I do. Why'd you ask? Are you worried about your parents?" She shook her head.

I was just wondering and I don't even know if I have any parents, she said.

"Everyone has parents, Gina," I said. "I'll make you a promise. I promise that on our journey, I will help you find out who your parents are, deal?"

Deal, she said with a wag of her tail. She went back to sleep and I went back to staring at the stars, which was really boring. But soon, I closed my eyes and fell into a dreamless sleep.
