Maddy's eyes widened. "How come you haven't told me this before?" she asked.

"I didn't know about it until now," I muttered.

"Do you have any more secrets?" she asked. Should I tell her about him? Or should I tell her about my ability to light my hair on fire?

"I saw him at the battle club three days ago." I said.

"Don't tell me that you're talking about the guy who nearly killed you two months ago?" she asked.

I nodded.

"What happened? And don't leave out any details." Now, you can see where I got the demanding voice expression from. I told her about it and when I was done, I saw Ash come in.

"Ash, hi," I said. Maddy turned around and her face lit up.

"Oh my gosh, you're Ash Ketchum. You were in the top ten in the Sinnoh league." she rambled.

"Ash, this is my best friend, Maddy Thornheart from back home. And Maddy, this is Ash even though you already know about him." I said.

"Is this the girl who had family problems and your only best friend who hung out in some hideout in the mountains?" he asked. Maddy looked at me.

"He already knows?" she asked.

"He asked me what I did in Winter Town and you know me, I can't lie when I get asked a question like that." I said. I turned to Ash and asked how I looked.

"Uh, you want honesty?" he asked. I stared at him. "Of course you do. Both of you look great."

"Thank you," we both said.

"Well, we better get going," I said, pushing Maddy and Ash out of the dressing room with my pokemon and Tepig following behind.

We walked into the lobby to find Cilan and Iris waiting. I went up to them and introduced Maddy to them. Pretty soon, the host of the competition came up on the screen.

"Hello and welcome to the Straiton City Competition!" He said. He was dark skinned and he wore a nice suit and tie. Ash and the others told Maddy and me to break a leg as they left to take their seats. "I'm your host, Sari Hokum and let's begin introducing the judges," Three judges came up on to him on stage. "The first one is Mr. Asoka,"

Mr. Asoka was a bald man with a small braid on the nape of his neck. "The second is your lovely Officer Jenny, and the third is Ms. Jeanne, the King of the Dance,"

No way, I thought. Jeanne Tyler won the King of the dance title in '79 with her pokemon Taji, a water pokemon that was from an entire different region that I never heard about. All I knew was that it was a region far away from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos.

"Those are your judges and now let's have the first contestant step up," he said. "Alicia Kit-Ketchum!" My heart was pumping fast as lightning and loud as thunder. I turned to Gina and Anna.

"You guys ready?" I asked.

Ready if you're ready, said Gina. I grinned as we made our way to the stage.

I could feel my breath getting shallow and I couldn't help but smile when I saw so many people, clapping. I soon heard a voice calling my name. I searched across the audience to see Ash, Cilan, and Iris with Pikachu, Axew, and Pansage, cheering me on.

Pretty soon, my song started playing as the house lights came down and the stage lights were focused on me. The beat was a five count and on the fifth one, I started with a twirl and then going side to side with the rhythm. And then when the lyrics started, Gina and Anna did their flips and turns around me while I did my thing that made the audience seem astonished.

When the song's chorus came, Gina and Anna did Fire Grace and the audience's eyes were so engrossed with it that a bomb could explode and they wouldn't even noticed. The song ended as we bowed with cheers and screams filling the auditorium.

Mr. Hokum came up beside me and faced the judges. "Judges, what did you think about Ms. Kit-Ketchum's performance? Mr. Asoka?"

"I loved how she combined fire type move with a grass type move that made it exotic and original," he said.

"Officer, what did you think?" he asked.

"She didn't seem nervous at all and she just went out here and did her best with her pokemon. They have that special bond that made this performance spectacular." she explained.

"And our lovely Jeanne, what about you?"

"Your name's Alicia, right?" she asked.

"It's AK, actually," I corrected her.

"Well, AK, what I see in your future is you and your pokemon winning the title of King of the Dance." The audience cried loud as I grinned and headed backstage.

There, I found Maddy, Ash, Iris, and Cilan already coming up to me.

"You were amazing," said Maddy.

"Yeah, you were awesome," added Ash.

I never thought that the whole thing would work, said Anna.

"Of course it would," I said. "I came up with it in one night." I got down on my knees and hugged them. "You guys made it work. Thank you."

It was your idea and thanks for encouraging us, Gina said.

Before I could make a comeback, Sari came on stage and announced, "So far AK Ketchum has the highest score with 50p. Who will get higher than her? Now for our next contestant,"
