Chapter 22- You are the Father

Nicki went over to Marc's place. She texted Marc when she was at his apartment complex. Nicki turned off her car and grabbed her bag, keys and the CVS bag. Nicki locked her car and she went up to his apartment. Nicki knocked on the door to the apartment. Marc opened the door after 3 knocks. Marc:" Hey Come in." Nicki stepped into the apartment. Marc:" What's up?" Nicki:" Umm..a lot." Marc:" Oh." Marc kissed Nicki. Nicki:" Umm... I....have something to tell you." Marc:" Ooh ok?" Nicki:" So you know that I went to the doctors today?" Marc:" Yea." Marc stepped back. Nicki:" Well it wasn't a migraine like I thought." Marc:" Ok what is it then?" Nicki:" Well..this morning I thew up." Marc took another step back. Nicki:" No you won't get sick." Marc:" Your not sick but you just said you thew up this morning. What did the doctor say?" Nicki:" Marc.....I'm pregnant." Marc:" What?" Nicki:" They said I was pregnant but I didn't believe them. So I took 5 tests when I got home and." ( Nicki took the tests out.) Marc:" And.. What?" Nicki:" All the tests came out that I'm pregnant. Your going to be a father." Marc:"What? How? Well I know how but what? How long are you?" Nicki:"The doctor said 3 weeks ." Marc:" 3 WEEKS!" (Marc stared at the pregnancy tests. Remembering that night.) Marc:" Oh Shit. The night we got drunk." Nicki:" Yea well apparently I took medicine that canceled out my pill. Also what happened between you and me. Why didn't you use a condom?" Marc:" I was in the moment. I don't think about it. Does anyone else know?" Nicki:" Yes, Sammy knows. That's it. Oh and the doctor." Marc:" What do we do now?" Nicki:" What do we do now! Marc we are going to be parents in 9 months. Holy shit in 9 months!" Marc:" Ok ok, Don't freaking out but I mean for you. What is next for you and the baby?" Nicki:" Well I have to go to the gynecologist. Which I have to make an appointment. They will show us what our baby looks like right now."  Nicki started to cry just thinking about becoming a mom. Marc walked over to Nicki and hugged her thinking about how his life was going to change. Marc:" Its going to be fine." Nicki:" I thought you were going to be mad or upset." Marc:" Why would I be mad? I helped put this child... our child in you. I'm a bit shocked about it but I will be fine." Marc kissed Nicki. Nicki:" I love you." Marc:"'I love you too." Nicki giggled :" You should have seen me at the doctors. I made them take an extra tests." Marc:" You did? So you took 7 tests?"Nicki:" Yea. I wanted to make sure I really was pregnant. Well at first I didn't believe it. So that's why I took 5 tests at home." Marc hugged Nicki again. Marc:" I can't believe that my brother is having a baby and now I'm having a baby." Nicki:" What your brother is having a kid." Marc:" Yea, Danny is having a kid." Nicki:" I didn't know that  Valentina was pregnant." Marc:" yea, she's pregnant with Danny's child." Marc touched Nicki's stomach. Marc:" Yea and his kid will have a cousin to play with." Nicki kissed Marc. All of a sudden there was a knock at the door. Nicki looked at Marc:" Who could that be?" Marc looked thew the peep hole. Marc:" it's Sammy." He opened the door. Sammy:" Sorry to interrupt anything." Marc:" No come in." Sammy looked at Nicki:" Does he know?" Nicki:" Yea he knows." Sammy:" Good. I got you guys some dinner." Nicki looked in the bag of food. Nicki:" There are 3 plates." Sammy:" Oh yea I guess I will take my food and go." Nicki looked at Marc. Marc:" You can stay Sammy. I mean you are the only person that knows our secret." Sammy:" really?" Marc:" really, stay." Sammy:"Thanks you for letting me stay, I really didn't want to eat by myself and I really wanted to tell someone." Nicki:" No not right know." Sammy:" ok." Nicki:" Sammy can you please not tell josh about this." (Nicki points to her stomach.) Sammy:" Not even josh." Nicki:" No, we will tell him." Nicki looked at Marc. Marc:" And act surprised when we do." Sammy:" ok. I will keep my mouth shut." They started eating. Sammy:" When Do you get that sonogram picture?" Nicki:" I don't know maybe when I go to the gynecologist." Sammy:" Ok. Give it to me so it seems that I am having a baby." Nicki:" What? I think it will have my name on it." Sammy:" So I will cover it up." Nicki:" Ok?" Sammy:" Come on it will be funny, I want to prank Josh." Nicki:" Ok. I will do that just for you just because I want to see his reaction." Sammy jumped up and down. Sammy:" Yes. Yes! Yes! Thank you Nicki." Nicki:" Stop don't say it like that. It sounds like we are having sex together." Marc looked at Nicki. The girls giggled. Sammy:" It's not like we haven't." Marc:" What?" Sammy:" We never did but we did date the same guy at the same time." Nicki:" We never had sex together. We did date the same guy at the same time. That's how we became friends." Sammy:" So is Marc going with you to the gynecologist?" Nicki looked at Marc. Nicki:" Well if he wanted to..Yea... do you want to? It's your kid too." Marc:" Yea sure." They finished there dinner and Sammy left to go back home. Nicki and Marc watched TV until 9:30 pm. Nicki:" I should get going I have a really big day tomorrow telling my boss that I can't work because I'm have a baby." Marc:" Ok, I'll see you tomorrow right. Nicki:" Yea...see you tomorrow. I'll let you know about the appointment." Marc:" Ok. Love you." Nicki:" Love you too." They kissed. Then Nicki left and went home. When Nicki got home she went into her bathroom and look at her belly in the mirror. Then she took a shower and went to bed.
