Christopher drove them to a cliff, where he parked the car so they had an overview of the town.

"Wow," Minnie breathed, before she turned to Christopher and waited for him to speak.

Christopher kept his eyes on the view as he began to talk. "When I saw you at the wedding, all of my old feeling returned. I know you felt it too. That dress looked amazing on you and I had a hard time keeping my eyes off you. I just fell back into the old routines, especially when you gave me that look. And I felt so stupid for how I treated you back in the days.  I know I'm engaged and I know I messed up, but it was just a one time thing. Amanda doesn't need to know, right?" he looked at Minnie with hope in his eyes. Minnie didn't know what to answer. She just kept her eyes on the view and took in everything he had said.

When she hadn't said anything for a while, Christopher spoke again. "Can I take you somewhere else to hang out like we used to?" he asked.

Minnie wanted to say no, but her head nodded before she could register. She knew that it was wrong to be with Christopher when he was taken, but she could always hang out with him, no feelings involved, right?

A little late for that sister.

Christopher turned on the engine and drove away from the hill. They were both quiet and Minnie kept her eyes on her right. She could feel Christopher glance over at her, but didn't bother to return the look.

The car came to a stop by a large field.

"The carnival is back in town?" Minnie asked when she registered what she saw.

Christopher shot her a smile and nodded. "I saw it in the paper yesterday morning and thought I would go back here for old times sake."

Minnie actually felt excited. When she and Christopher were in high school, during one weekend every year, a big carnival came to town. They were a big group of friends that used to go together every year. Minnie remembered her the carnival her senior year for various reasons:

"Come on guys, lets go!" April shouted just as Christopher parked the car on the field. Minnie, Christopher, April and Ethan had taken the same car, while their friends had rode other cars.

They all got out of the car and Christopher was quick to grab Minnie's hand. While they waited for the last car to arrive, Minnie leaned her head on Christopher's arm (she was to short to put it on his shoulder) and he placed a kiss on the top of her head.

It was three months before the senior prom and Ethan had asked April to prom ages ago, but Christopher hadn't asked Minnie yet. She was beginning to feel uneasy and irritated and kept wondering why it took so long and if/or he just didn't want to go with her.

When the last car finally arrived, the group entered the carnival. They split up pretty early, when some of them wanted to ride the Ferris wheel, while some of them wanted to play games.

Christopher and Minnie joined the friends who wanted to play games. They found one where you were supposed to spray water on a sign until it fell, and when Minnie beat Christopher, he sprayed her with water. Minnie got a large stuffed bear that Christopher offered to carry.

When the night was coming to an end, Minnie and Christopher decided to ride the Ferris wheel, so that they could look at the sunset together. When they were at the top of the Ferris wheel, it suddenly came to a stop. Minnie and Christopher figured that they were letting off people, so they decided to make out, while in private. Even though she was irritated with him, she still liked him, a lot. When they had been stuck on the top for twenty minutes, they started to figure that something was wrong. Someone shouted from the ground that there was some technical issue, and that people were doing their best to fix it and that no one that was stuck in the ride should panic.

Neither Minnie nor Christopher were scared nor panicking because the sun was starting to set. The sky was covered in pink, yellow and orange colors and it was just beautiful and peaceful. Minnie rested her head on Christopher's arm again and sighted at the view.

"Minnie?"  Christopher suddenly asked.

"Mhm?" she mumbled still with her eyes on the sky.

"Will you go to prom with me?" he asked.

Minnie's head shot up and she looked at him. He was serious.

"Well, yes of course. What took you so long?"

"Planning the perfect moment." he winked.

"You planned for the Ferris wheel to stop?" she asked and thought that that was actually pretty romantic.

"Yes, so we could watch the sunset and so that I could ask you." he smiled at her.

She smiled back and gave him a long kiss.

When they pulled back, Christopher leaned forward and shouted to the men at the ground. "You can let us down now. She said yes!"

That earned some applause from people, and five seconds later the Ferris wheel began to move again.

Later that night, Minnie and Christopher had dropped April and Ethan off at the Caliente's before going to stay at the Dolan residence. They had told Christopher's parents that they were going to prom together. Not really a surprise to anyone, but Christopher's mom cried regardless.

Minnie returned back to reality when Christopher opened his door and stepped out the car. She sighted at the memory and stepped out as well.
