High school: part 2

Paul's POV

Every time someone mentions her name I tense up, I liked her ever since ugh I can't even remember. You know the stories of a brother's best friend falling in love with his sister, well that's me right now. I'm in love with my best friend's sister, every time I look at her I get butterflies in my stomach dam even my hands begin to sweat. The only thing that's holding me back from being with her is Jaxon, her brother my best friend. I wouldn't want our relationship to change because of her.

Another reason, I have a girlfriend. Thoughts kept flooding my brain, walking into school. It was my senior year of high school. I was so excited to finally be done with school, but the only thing that was missing from having an amazing senior year was a girl. I know I have a girlfriend, I tried so many times to feel the way I'm supposed to feel with her but it's just not there. Last week we were laying in bed after sleeping together she turned to look over to me rubbing my chin telling me she loved me. I stood in complete silence, I couldn't lie to her. I couldn't say I love you back when I wouldn't even mean it.

I entered school thinking about what had happened last week with daisy, I entered the doors spotting her waiting for me by my locker. I walked up to her kissing her on the lips, putting one arm around her shoulder. We begin to walk to her class, passing by the senior lockers. I spotted her right away she looked somewhat lost and then the feeling came back. My heart started to get this feeling I never felt before, she noticed me too but seemed to avoid me.

I know I should have just ignored her but it was just an instinct "Cassie" she looked down nervously. She seemed kind of lost and as my best friend's sister I needed to help her. I asked for her schedule. As she tried to hand them to me our hands touched, she moved her hand quickly putting a small smile on my face. Was she nervous I asked myself but quickly dusted it off, a little while after I let her know where her class was and she just walked away quickly.

I placed my arm around Daisy again, but something was different she shoved my hand away upset "why do you always have to give her so much attention" I looked at her confused "What do you mean?" she took some steps back "You know what I mean, no matter what we're doing if something happens to her you always put her first" I looked stunned at this response "Daisy, she's my best friend's sister...Of course, I have to protect her no matter what" she stood silent for a while as a tear began to fall from her eye. I tried to grab her hand but she pushed me away "fine if you always want to put her first, I won't get in your way anymore. I'm done" She walked away. I know I should have chased after her but there was some kind of relief inside me.

Cassie's POV

I greeted all my friends, Taylor one of my best friends hands me a drink. I tried to have fun but the only thing that was on my mind was paul. Why did he have this much effect on me? Time passed quickly, dancing the night away drinking I finally decided it was time for me to take a break I headed to the back noticing that some of my friends were playing beer pong. One of the guys walked up to me asking if I wanted to play but I didn't have a partner I looked both ways trying to find someone to play with when I heard a familiar voice behind me "Ill play with you." He sent shivers down my back, I turned to him not making eye contact "Okay, let's play" I walked towards the table and began to play.  Several games later, we had been winning every single game, this was our last game...there was only one cup left on both sides and it was our turn to throw the ball as Paul was concentrating he throws it and makes it. Now it was my turn if I make it we automatically win.
