I stared at the darkness of the next room once the door opened. I clutched the knife tightly, ready for what lies in the darkness…I went in…and the door slammed shut behind me. I heard the click of a lock…there was no going back. A light came one in the middle of the room. It was dim and it only illuminated a metal table with two metal chairs. I felt something…or someone else in the room.

I walked over to the table and sat down in one of the chairs even though my conscience was yelling…screaming…begging for me not to and just find a way out. The light flickered and a person appeared in the other chair. They had there head down with there unkempt hair blocking any visual facial features. I felt like I wasn’t able to move.

The person lifted there head…and my eyes widened. I saw myself…or what looked like me. Her eyes were black…and it looked like she was crying a black substance. Her skin was deathly pale…but other than that and the eyes…she was me. We stayed silent for what seemed like hours just looking at each other.

“You won’t be able to escape.” She said…her voice echoed and I felt it bore into my brain.

“You’ll die…before that happens…” She said and I felt my blood freeze.

“W…what do you mean? Who…or what are you?” I said keeping my composure in front of this…thing.

“I…am you…well…your tortured mind. You putting me through those mind bending tortures at the hospital…warped me. I…will either get better…or worse as you progress. If you let something get the better of you or torture you…the more I will fall apart. You must get through every room. These are trials to see if you shall live…or die…”

“W…what?” I was getting horrified and confused.

“You must get through this…and conquer all your nightmares…if you want to live…and remember…don’t give into the whispers…” With that the light flickered and she disappeared. The light popped off and I jumped out of the chair as darkness filled the room again. A door burst open causing me to jump again. It was a blinding light but I was able to see that the table and chairs were gone.

I walked up to the light…and went through. The door slammed shut again and I saw one of the mangled dogs from the hospital in the corner. It was whimpering and yelping. It looked like it was shaking. I just stood there not knowing what to do.

It then turned around…slowly…
