jisung's breathing stopped for a moment.

" i can't cure you.. "

he felt his mouth dry up inside as he gulped after hearing the older's response.

chenle watched jisung's expression become lifeless.

he felt tears brimming in his eyes when jisung's lower lip started to tremble ever so slightly.

oh no..

"ji.." he said, voice shaky.

chenle inhaled sharply and looked jisung in the eyes.

his heart hurt at the sight.

no verbal response came from the younger,

only a single tear rolled down his cheek.

"ji!" chenle sniffled, gripping onto his best friend's shoulders.

another single tear rolled down jisung's cheek, and they started multiplying in number afterwards.

chenle felt the lump in his throat worsen.

zhong chenle and park jisung.

they've always been together through thick and thin,

supporting each other until the end.

and yes, they've both cried in front of each other,

but..

but not like this.

jisung was always the quieter of the two, and when he cried, he usually made very little sound.

but this,

this was different.

never had chenle ever seen jisung cry with a blank expression on his face.

it was new,

and it scared him.

jisung got up and locked himself in the bathroom.

chenle stood near the door and leaned on it.

his heart broke when he heard jisung's cries get louder.

he decided to try and talk it out.

"jisung.. open the door!"

no response.

the lack of energy in the room was lowering chenle's mood. he was the type of person who fed off of things like positivity and happiness.

"w-we can f-fix this-s!" he proposed, knocking on the door twice.

it only got more intense by the second, and that affected chenle in a way bigger than you could imagine.

jisung sniffled harshly,

and chenle felt a fresh wave of hot tears form.

they both cried their hearts out.

one due to guilt,

the other due to rejection.

"jisung, open the door."

"..."

"w-we can talk it out.. like we always d-do!"

"..."

"dolphin is sad.."

"then leave."

"b-but.. what if dolphin can't leave?"

"dolphin can walk home."

"..can chicky c-come?"

"no."
