dear self,
in this world filled with a society striving for perfection, you'll inevitably get judged.
sometimes, it's by people you've never met before. strangers you come across on the street. but you can tell they're judging you by the way they glance at you, perhaps sneer or scowl or even stare.
they don't matter.
sometimes, it's by the people you see everyday. classmates, teachers, peers. it becomes a routine to see them and they'll notice if you've changed. bit by bit. or all in one night. perhaps they'll point it out bluntly, maybe mention it subtly or even tease you for it.
they don't matter,
but worst of all, sometimes it's the people you love most. family and friends. and because they're so close to you, they'll point it out casually, tell you truthfully what they think about, how you shouldn't do it or should prevent it or shouldn't have it. they'll hurt you most because they're the ones you love.
but just like the rest of the world,
they don't matter.
what matters is YOUR opinion.
your own judgement on yourself.
you can let the world tell you what to look like, how to act, who you should be. and it'll ruin you. they're set out to find every single flaw you have.
but your own judgement matters the most because it has the most power.
so tell yourself that you look beautiful. handsome. cute. cool. whatever as long as it's positive.
and tell the world that you're not built for perfection.
love yourself. because there is only one of you in the universe with all your flaws and talents
love yourself. because you owe it to yourself and your body.
love yourself. really.
