I was trying on a dress and posing for the other girls.

"It looks so good on you!" Said Lucy.

"Yes! I love it! You have to take it!" Levy this time.

"It suits you," MiraJane said, hands together as though she had been clapping.

"I'm not too sure..." I said as I looked down at the skirt, lifting it in my hands. After swaying left and right and then looking up, my eyes caught something.

I looked up and past the glass windows at the front of the store. There I saw Jellal, staring into the shop right at me.

To remain inconspicuous, I shrugged to the girls. Although in truth I was asking Jellal for his opinion. He tried to smile a convincing smile, giving the uncomfortable tension between us, and gave a thumbs up.

I smiled and looked back at the girls. From underneath my brows I saw Jellal continue to walk. I looked up for only a second to see him leave.

"You should certainly take it," said Levy, interrupting my thoughts. I looked down at her, then thought about Jellal's opinion and decided to take it.

As the others were trying on their outfits I decided to leave. "Hey, I'm gonna leave you guys for a bit; there are some other stores I want to check out."

All of them stared at me.

"You sure? This is said to be the best clothing store in the whole city." Lucy. She was standing on the modelling podium.

I nodded and they nodded back. I went to the counter to pay for my dresses.

Once I left the shop I walked in the same direction Jellal went. I walked down the small set of steps outside the shop, in the open hallway that connected to a big open garden, then turned to my right.

"You're very good at looking normal, not so good at hiding," I said to Jellal. He was leaning on a pillar beside the steps.

He looked at me and greeted with a faint 'hi.' I laughed at him.

"So, you wanna shop with me?"

" 'Scuse me?" was his shocked response. He stared at me for moment as I smiled.

"Or we could go eat something. You choose."

"What?"

I laughed at his obliviousness. "Don't tell me you didn't hear me."

"No, sorry, I did but... Um... I don't think so. You and the girls were planning to go shopping together and I don't—"

"Please, I can shop with them anytime I want to. But, I haven't seen you in a while and it'd be nice to spend some time together."

He was quiet, seemingly thinking about the option. A big part of me hoped he wouldn't decline.

"Come on, it'll be fun."

He looked at me. "Okay, I'll shop with you..."

I smiled and began walking further down the sidewalk of this open mall. Jellal followed behind me and we walked on to the next clothing store. There wasn't much chatter— any chatter actually— between us as we walked but as we reached the entrance to the next store and were about enter, I stopped him.
