*REAL LIFE*

*THURSDAY, 6:57*

it's been 6 days since zion and naomi broke up. and even though zion is the one that broke it off he has been taking it really hard. he hasn't left the house outside of going to school and most days he leaves before his schedule is even over. zion can't really talk to anyone about it either. all of his friends are being real students and not skipping classes or sports practices so they don't have time to help out zion. there has been one thing thought that cheers him up every single night. facetiming brandon. every night brandon had been there to make zion laugh, help him get over naomi, and cheer the heartbroken kid up. a couple days brandon even came over to help zion out with homework (even though they don't go to the same school) and sometimes just to hangout. in zions eyes brandon was perfect, as a friend of course. at least for now.

zion layed in his bed contemplating if he should call brandon now or wait until later. he didn't want to seem needy but he was bored and didn't feel like doing his homework.

"zion, come down. dinners ready" zions mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs. the boy sighed and realized that now even if he wanted to call brandon now he would have to wait. zion got up from his bed, put a shirt on, and made his way to the staircase. as he was walking downstairs he heard faint music. he couldn't tell where it was coming from but then shorty realized. zion walked back up the stairs and barged into his brother eloms room.

"dinners ready man. come down." zion said sternly.

"FOOD??" elom asked a little too excited.

zion took a deep breath in. he smelled something familiar. "and spray some febreze too. it smells loud in here." elom just laughed, obviously high as a kite. zion turned on eloms fan and walked out down the stairs. zions mom and sister were already sitting at the dining table. zions dad was on a business trip and wouldn't be back for another week. so the only person they were waiting for now was elom. a couple minutes later he slowly came down the stairs.

"finally! what were you doing up there elom?" zions mother asked. elom stood there thinking about what to say for a minute but then finally answered.

"i was cleaning up a little." zion couldn't help himself and bursted our laughing. elom was a terrible lier when he was high.

"and what is so funny zion?" their mother asked sternly.

"oh nothing, i just remembered something funny that happened at school today." zion said nervously then ate some of his pasta avoiding eye contact with his mom. he could tell that his mom knew about him skipping classes and didn't want to deal with it. it seemed like she didn't want to deal with either because after that the rest of dinner was pretty normal. everyone just ended up chatting about how their own days went.

"zion can you help me with the dishes, please?" zions mom asked.

"yea, coming." zion paused his show on netflix and went back to the kitchen. "mom you know we have a dishwasher right?" zion asked laughing a little at the end. zion and his siblings could never get over the fact that their mother always hand washed the dishes. they have a perfectly good dishwasher but it's how she grew up so she decided that it was how they were going to grow up too.

"no what's a dishwasher?" she joked. they both laughed and zion grabbed a bowl to clean.

"so zion, do you wanna talk about it?" zion froze and went quite.
