Adolescence.

Fluorescent dye on lines of life's horrid lessons,
Adolescence's essence did not leave my brain vacant,
The savage teenage era begins with acne,
Body metamorphosis misleading to agony,
Period every kid acquires bad habits,
In my panoramic view listening to Nas' Illmatic,
I've seen my friends sniffing cocaine in the attic,
At the point I realized how their change was drastic,
I reminisced about the time everything seemed good,
We were children in groups given birth by our neighborhood,
Playing varieties of games with no source of worries,
Our words in our tongues and our hearts upon our sleeves,
Ribbons of tears accompanied by invisible chardonnay,
Troubles and fears ease so, so picante,
Romances and curiosity always a forbid,
The frustrations and ironies bottled with lid,
Temptations and guilt hidden behind our innocence,
Certain predicaments make us have more indolence,
Depressed and suffering increasing anxiety,
The humiliation of sharing emotions with society,
Some of us are strong and pull through all of our tests,
But some of us are weak no matter the requests,
Some of us make it out of our teens with big bangs,
But some of us don’t no matter life’s many harangues.
Adolescence, we all go through this.
