Chasing our Dreams

I was pacing back and forth. Today is the day that my whole team will be formed again. I will be able to see Kate, Finny, Patrick and Ricardo again. I cannot wait to hug and welcome them in this palace. A cold place that only them could make it atleast warmer for me.

Alex did not technically fully granted my wish. Even though we didn't talked about it, I knew he's being smart and not impulsive like me. Especially for Ricardo and Finny, they're the sons of a leader from their own packs, they can't stay here forever.

As for Kate and Patrick, I cannot ask them to be here forever or else they won't find their mates. I remember how upset Kate was that she's old already and not met her mate still. I cannot take away their freedom just for my selfish justification. So, they're only granted two weeks vacation, until my coronation day.

It has been a week since my last conversation with Alexander. After my last statement, he only ordered me to go back to my chamber. Since then, I didn't see him. I would eat my meals alone or with either Dylan or Lucas only.

I asked about the Gamma whose name is Colby but he's on a quest to visit a pack in Northland. He'll return today as well though.

Instead of weeping over it, despite the heartache, I decided to drown myself with work over continuing Dr. Hermanno's only invented elixir. I find it strange and hard. The substances keep on repelling each other that's why it doesn't work.

"I missed you so much!", said Kate. It's the first thing she said the moment they arrived. She run to me and hugged me followed by Ricardo who was pulled away from me by Lucas.

Ricardo growled at Lucas but I stopped them before an unwanted problem occured. "It's okay, they're like my siblings now.", I assured Lucas. I hugged each one of them.

"Are you okay?", Patrick asked and I nodded while giving him the longest hug. Thankfully, he'll not be stucked at the Citadel for a while. He deserves freedom. I'm sure he only needs more training before he go on his own exploration.

"I baked a lot. Let's have a tea party.", I announced causing Ricardo and Kate to cheer. Only these two, when it comes to food, they never back out even if it's a tea gallore or a formal meeting with someone important. As long as there's food involved, they're always on the go.

"You two, behave.", Finny warned them but they only grinned like children being taught and scolded by their parent. Their faces, you knew they don't listen, and they will still do what they want.

Shaking my head in nostalgic amusement, I'm with my people, with my cup of tea. Despite our argument, I will be forever grateful to Alexander for granting me this request. I'll take note to visit and thank him later. It's time for me to woman up. Besides, I'm the one to blame here why he became like that.

"How's being a queen? How's life here in this prestigious palace?", Ricardo asked. How I missed his bubbly and reckless character. It's not the same when I don't hear his voice and antics. He really brings life to our group like a clown that always brings joy.

I shrugged, "Peaceful but not great. Interesting but boring. Comfortable but... meh."

Kate made a 'tsk tsk' sound before sipping her tea, "In other words, you're not in your comfort zone."

That hit me so hard. That's my current reality, my current situation. I am not in my comfort zone, the people here are not my cup of tea, the environment is too vague and strange for me. Even though my mate was supposed to make me warm and feel cozy in his little own way, I don't. I only fear him. I'm ashamed of standing before him from what I did to him. I'm scared that people will belittle me for leaving their alpha.
