Chp.1-

~Castiel~

Castiel walked down the hallways of his new school, trying to not be noticed by his peers. He was sorta standing out with a gray beanie and glasses on his head, they went well with his 'The Doctor and The Daleks' tee that was covered by his signature trench coat, with black skinny jeans.

Castiel's back was killing him because of the shiny, space like black wings hidden underneath his clothing. He rolled his shoulders trying to shift his wings into a more comfortable position as he walked to the head office to get his schedule.

When Castiel reached the office he saw his archangel brother, Gabriel, sitting in one of the chairs.

"Hiya Cassie." Gabe smiled when he saw Castiel walk into the small office. He pushed the cherry sucker to the corner of his mouth.

Castiel furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head in confusion, "Gabriel? Why are you here?"

He was surprised when Gabriel explained to him that he was applying to school as well, when the young to-be-angel made his way to a chair beside him.

"W-why?" Castiel asked as he furrowed his eyebrows once again.

"Maybe because i want an education too." Gabriel asked more than he stated it. At this point Castiel knew he was lying, so he made an 'are-you-fucking-kidding-me' look or to be more precise; a bitch face.

"Well that may not be.... the case, um, I'm here basically to make sure no one finds out about," He lowered his voice so only Castiel, just in case he is overheard, "the 'angel' thing."

Gabriel straightened up as the principal walks in. She stared at the two boys then glared down at a piece of paper on her desk.

"Oh, you must be Gabriel and Castiel Novak? I'm principal Naomi," she held out her hand for them to shake.

Gabriel nodded in reply. He then glanced down at Castiel, who was fiddling with the belt on his trench coat.

"Okay, give me a second to get your schedules, if you don't mind." Naomi walked into a room in the back. Gabriel smiled to her as she was walking out of sight.

Castiel motioned Gabriel down to hear his whisper, "I am one-hundred and sixteen thousand years old, I do not need you to watch over me."

"Too late little bro." Gabriel chuckled as his fledgling brother rolled his eyes.

A few minutes later the principal handed them their schedules, "okay boys, by now, second period should be starting."

Gabriel looks like he should be a senior, but he needed to keep a better eye on Castiel, so he applied to be a freshman. God had assined him this job since he had nothing to do. Luckily, Gabriel gladly accepted.

Castiel always wanted an education, to get a better knowledge of the human race his father created, but his brothers and sisters wouldn't let him do it because they didn't think he was capable with keeping such s big secret. So Castiel flew to earth when Gabriel was fledgling-sitting him. Gabriel was not the best sitter, by the way.

A while later Gabriel noticed that Castiel had fled. He didn't want to tell his father but he found out anyways when Micheal tattled. And God, being fed up by his children's foolishness, sent Micheal, Gabriel, and Balthazar -all of whom are Castiel's sitters until he is out of the fledgling stage- to earth to control Castiel and protect him, since he is their responsibility. He gave Gabriel the job to protect Castiel in school, since he was the only one out of the sitters who looked like an average teen-aged male.

Gabriel told Castiel these things as they walked down the corridors of the school.

"Why didn't he just send one of you to come and get me? I mean I'm not complaining, but why?"

"Because he wants you to be happy, Castiel, or, at least, that's what he told me, he look quite like he was hiding something though. He has this big menacing grin on his face, like he had something planned... Castiel?" Gabriel noticed that Castiel had stopped walking beside him.

He wanted him to be happy? Why him though, not like every angel is happy -because they're not- but why is he going out of his way to just make Castiel happy, he was just another angel. If it were an archangel in his position, he would have a better understanding.

"Bro?" Castiel looked up from the ground and noticed Gabriel giving him a confused look.

"Oh" The young angel started walking behind Gabriel again.

Gabriel shifted his bulky green jacket -that was supposed to hide his golden wings when he was younger, but now they are grown so he can hide them from the human eye, he just really loves that jacket-

"Alright, we have a few different classes, like art, physical education, and French." Gabriel huffed, clearly annoyed with the schedules.

"Don't worry, Gabriel, I can take care of myself." Castiel gave him a reassuring smile. He can't believe Gabriel doesnt trust him, rude much? Sure Castiel was known for many screw-ups, but, wow, rude.

The archangel rolled his eyes, "fine, but Cassie," Castiel turned to look Gabriel in the eyes, "please, keep safe."

Gabriel patted Castiel on the shoulder as they parted ways.
