~Castiel~

"That doesn't really explain everything, Gabriel!" Castiel whispered harshly. Gabriel just simply shrugged his shoulders and walked off to talk with Sam.

~Dean~

Dean saw how Gabe sauntered off with Sam, making Cas' face clear to see at this angle. He had confusion written all over his face as he, too, watched Gabriel and Sam. Before Dean had a chance to call Cas over to him, the nerdy dude hesitantly started towards him, risking a glance back at his brother. Dean worried about his friend as he came to a stop right in front of him. "Hello, Dean" he spoke barely above a whisper.

"Uh, Cas? Everything okay? What was that about?" Dean falteringly put his hand on the slightly shorter boy's shoulder reassuringly.

Dean saw Castiel's face scrunch up, clearly trying to conjure up a lie, "Gabriel was just.... reminding me of, uh,... homework...for class.... that was due today..."

He's such a bad liar, Dean thought. But since he is, in fact, telling a lie then he didn't want him to know, and Dean isn't that kind of person to urge the private life out his friends.

"Ookay... C'mon let's get to class, then." Dean threw his arm around Cas' shoulders as they walked to class, he felt his stomach do flips as his friend wrapped his own arm around Dean's waist.

*a few days later*

~Castiel~

The agonizing pain in his shoulders was unbearable. Rolling them, Castiel tried to focus on his work but the pain.

Micheal made him do a bunch of wing exercises the past week to help with his disjointed bone. (He blames Gabriel for throwing him off of a cliff when he was a small fledgling.)

Agh, this sucks. Well, he could just go to a private place to- no, what if someone sees? Screw it. His wings were killing him.

Castiel slowly raised his hand, feeling Dean's questioning glare from beside him.

Ms. Tran certainly took her time to look up from her magazine that she was reading to see answer Castiel.
She cleared her thirst before answering, "yes, Mr. Novak?"

Castiel hesitated slightly, "May I- May I go to the nurse?" He made sure he used extra manners.

"Can I ask what the problem is?" Castiel resisted the urge make a smart remark like "I don't know, can you?" He slightly rolled his eyes instead and gave her the best reason he first thought of - through gritted teeth, of course. "My back hurts, I just need some pain medication and I should be fine, ma'am." Jeeze, why are people so nosy here?

The teacher shrugged and held out a pink slip for him to take.

~Dean~

Dean saw the pain across his friend's face as he asked to go to the nurse and how he limped to the front of the class to grab a slip to the nurse. It was like he could almost feel the pain from his friend and it hurt him not physically, but mentally. He decided that he didn't like this feeling, it made his heart ache for some weird reason he didn't want to explain. So he wanted to help.

Dean asked the teacher if he could, grabbing the peice of paper and slipping into the school corridors he saw Castiel turn the exact opposite of the way to the nurse.

Curiosity filled his mind, as he slowly followed behind to find out what exactly the blue eyed boy is up to.

He saw Castiel turn down another corridor and he new where this hallway went; outside. "Damn, what the hell?" He asked no one in particular since he was by himself, kinda.

When he almost reached Cas, the boy looked around, searching his surroundings for peeking eyes. Dean quickly hid behind an opened door. He was almost about to peek out when he heard the back doors to the school open then close quietly. Dean quickly shot out from behind the door to catch up but before he went he halted immediately, wishing that these doors were tinted from the sight he saw: two huge, beautiful black wings unfurl from his friends trench coat.
