Melinda had always believed in what was right and always saw the best in everyone. So it was a surprise to her when the virus broke out and the world became a living hell, she was one of the last few living people.
So there she sat, peeking out the library window from her spot on the floor, a knife next to her as she waited for her group to return.
It felt like they had been gone for hours, but as she looked at the watch she managed to fix, she saw it had only been about thirty minutes.
"What's taking them so long?" She murmured to herself before she heard footsteps running towards the door. It was her group! They're back!
"Let us in Linda!" One of the boys, Jaxson she presumed, shouted. Melinda quickly unchained the doors and did a head count to make sure there were six people who had came inside. She was about to shut the door when she got knocked over by an undead corpse.
"Bash its head Mel!" Daisy yelled, sliding a knife towards her. Melinda questioned why no one was helping her.
"They're still people! I can't kill them!" She exclaimed as she tried to get the zombie off her. She heard a growl as one of the members stabbed the thing in the head.
She shoved the limp body off of her and immediately shut the door, chaining it back up for extra safety. Her hands were shaking badly as she looked at the blood she got on her hands.
"Y-you set me up, didn't you?" She asked with both anger and fear. "You know I can't kill them!"
"It's the end of the world, suga, you gotta learn to fend for yourself.." Daisy spoke softly, brushing curls out of Melinda's face. The Red haired girl sighed and nodded, looking away from the motherly member.
"A-at least teach me the basics.." She murmured softly as she watched the others go sort out the supplies they gathered. "Patience is key to helping me."
