My family recently moved to farm. We were exploring the house. 1 bathroom, 3 bedroom, kitchen. Etc. It was a white, cozy house with a big, red, barn right next to the house.
We were exploring the area and decided to explore the barn. As soon as you walked in you could smell an over powering smell of death. We put our shirts over our noses and continued.
There were horse pens, pig pens, etc. There were no animals in any of them. There was a bucket in the corner holding rain water. We thought there was a leak in the ceiling. The only problem with that was that it was not raining outside. We shrugged it off and called it a day.
When I went to sleep, my window was closed, but that same night I was awoken by a scraping sound coming from the barn. I didn't go down to investigate because im too much of a wuss. But I did decide to tell my dad to check it out. I watched from my window as my dad opened the barn doors. He came out about 2 minutes later. He told that there was nothing in there. But it was also really hard to see since it was pitch black outside. So he told me that he would check again in the mourning.
In the morning, me and him opened the barn doors. We saw nothing but old pig pens and gardening tools. And that familiar drip coming from the corner. My dad told me that maybe the noise I heard last night was from the leaky roof. Then told me that he would fix it later on. I thanked him for his hard work and we went inside to eat breakfast with mom.
I was painting in my room when my dad called all of us outside.
He was on the roof. He said that he was trying to fix the leak, but there was no hole. And then he told me to check in the barn.
I opened the barn doors and went over to the dripping.
There was a dead cat hanging on the meat hook. When I looked in the corner, there were more dead animals. Dogs, cats, squirrels, chickens, With a big pile of blood.
We still live there. But we had the barn taken down. We have never spoke about that incident. It only brings back bad memory's.
