Chapter 10 - What happened?

Jacob P.O.V

I knocked, but got no answer. I could hear music, so she probably couldn't hear the knock. I opened the door and saw Tessie dance, while wearing some really funny clothing. As she saw me, her whole face turned red in embarrassment. She turned around. "W-why didn't you knock!?" she shouted. "I did, but you didn't answer" I said while holding my laughter back. She didn't answer. "I just came up to say that dinners ready" She nodded. I turned around and closed the door. On my way down, I broke out in laughter.

Tessie P.O.V

After hearing the door close, I fell on my knees. He saw me. I can't believe he saw me! I could feel the heat from my face. I stood up and found my clothes to change into. After I changed, I walked downstairs. They were already sitting around the dinner table. Grandpa smiled at me, the same did mom. Jacob just smiled to himself, looking at his plate. I can't face him. I sat down between mom and grandpa. "Now we are all here, let's eat" grandpa said as he reached out for the chicken.

After we were done eating, I helped grandpa wash up the dishes. "So Tessie how is school?" I looked down. "It's fine, but let's not talk about school! How are you, grandpa?" I say, trying to avoid the topic. Grandpa giggle as he wash up the last plate. "Oh, I'm fine. I am really grateful for having Jacob and John. They really help out in the house and it is nice to have someone to talk to" He smiles at me, but I think it is awkward to talk about Jacob right now. "What do you think about him?" I look at grandpa. "Who?" I ask. "Jacob?" I blush as I take the last plate to dry. "I-I don't know, he's okay, I guess?" Grandpa laugh and clean up. I can't believe I am going to stay here in a whole week...

Next Day

Mom woke me up and told me we were going to the beach. Grandpa joined and all three of us went. When we got to the beach, we found a spot to sit. As we sat sunbathing, some guys waved at us (probably me). My mom thought they waved at her, so she waved back and gave them her flirtiest smile. They got scared and hurried away. We all laughed. We bathed a little and then mom brought ice creams to us. After that, we drove back to Grandpa's house. As we got back, Jacob was already home. Hopefully he was up in his room, so I wouldn't bump into him.

Jacob P.O.V

I was sitting in my room listening to music, when I heard the front door. Harris must be back with Laura and Tessie. I stopped the music and walked out of my room. As I got to the stairs, I bumped into Tessie. She was on her way upstairs. As she bumped into me, she blushed. She is really cute when blushing. "Hey Tessie, had a fun day?" I asked as I stood in her way. She looked down. "Yeah, I think..." she said shyly. "You think?" I ask playfully. She blushed even more. "Y-Yeah!" she said while trying to get by me, but I blocked the way. I laugh as she struggles to get by me. "Will you please move?" she ask. "Why, if you ask that nicely I may will" I giggle. She (finally) looks me in the eyes. Her hazel eyes shined as she looked annoyingly at me. "If you ask REALLY nicely, I may let you pass" I tease her. She sighs and takes a deep breath. "Jacob, you are really sweet if you would move and let me pass!" she says with a cute smile. I get all soft knees as I moves to the left side, letting her pass. She walks into her room, as I stand there, dumbfounded. I didn't really think she would do it, so I was really surprised. I smirk. She is a really interesting person!

Tessie P.O.V

As I finally get pass Jacob, who is blocking the way, I walk into my room. I get the feeling that he really like to tease. I throw my things on the floor and throw myself on the bed. It was really fun today, but I am really exhausted now. I feel my eyes closing and my mind wandering off. I am really tired.

Jacob P.O.V

Just like yesterday, I was asked to get Tessie to dinner. And just like yesterday, she didn't answer my knocks. And just like yesterday I opened the door without her permission. But today she wasn't dancing. Today she was sleeping. She laid on the bed, her hair flying to different directions. I walked over to her bed. "Tessie, dinners ready" I said, but she didn't react at all. "Tessie? Wake up" I sat beside her. I looked at her face. This was the first time I see her relax. Every time I see her she is either nervous, embarrassed, firm or shy. But right now she is totally relaxed, without any worries at all. I giggle as I move some of her hair away from her face. "You are quite cute, you know" I say, as I look at her. I start to poke her to wake her up.

Tessie P.O.V

I woke up from someone poking me. I rubbed my eyes as I turned around. "Mom!" I said tired and annoyed. I pushed her hand away and went back to sleep, but she just started poking me again. "MOM!" I shouted annoyed as I sat up and glared at her. But it wasn't her... it was Jacob! I straighten up in my bed and push him away. "W-What are you doing!?" I shout embarrassed over the thought of him, seeing me sleep like that! I feel my cheeks, no, my whole face get red. Jacob giggles and stand up. He walks over to the door, but before going out he turn around and gives a gently, yet playfully smile. "Dinners ready" he say and then walk out, closing the door after him. I sit there, looking at the closed door. He saw me sleep! What if I snored or talked in my sleep!? Or if I drooled!? I took my hand up to my mouth to check, that there wasn't any drool. There wasn't, thank god! But still, this was too embarrassing!

Jacob P.O.V

As I closed the door behind be, I thought of the image of Tessie's sleeping face. I giggle and go down the stairs. I walk into the dinning room where Harris and Laura is sitting at the table waiting for Tessie and I. they are talking about Tessie. "She really need to get away from the school in some days, because-" Laura say, but stops when she sees me. She smiles at me. "Jacob, where's Tessie?" she ask. "She is on her way" I say and sit beside Harris. Laura nods and smiles. A little time after Tessie comes and we start to eat. They talk about Laura's job, but I couldn't concentrate on the conversation. I couldn't stop thinking of what Laura said, when I came down again. "She really need to get away from the school in some days, because" she said. Because of what? What happened to Tessie? I took at glance at Tessie as she looked at her carrots, which she didn't want to eat. She looked sad in a way, but at the same time showed a firm expression. I couldn't read her at all.

When we were done eating, I got the job to wash the dishes. Laura was also in the kitchen, cleaning up after herself. I took the chance to ask her. "Laura, what were you and Harris talking about?" she smiled at me. "When?" she asked. "While I was upstairs getting Tessie?" Laura's facial expression changed, just like before when I meet her. "Oh, we just talked about how Tessie's been doing in school and such" she said with a weak smile. I know that it wasn't that, but wouldn't press Laura anymore. She looked worried and sad, so I wouldn't force her to tell me. but still, the curiosity was still there. What happened to Tessie, that Laura wouldn't talk about?
