Aura^
Aura's POV:
I stared around the place, doing my best to ignore the stranger-not anymore- and his piercing glare.
Now let me say something.
Just because I'm ignoring him doesn't mean I didn't get a pretty good look at his demeanor.
Yep.
Still hot.
If not hotter.
"So, miss...?"
"Collins, but you can just call me Aura."
He looked at me, and I saw a small smirk playing on his lips.
Right.
He knows my name, now.
"Ms. Collins. Tell me a little about yourself."
"Well, I'm looking for a job, and a PA is more than suitable. I have been fired from two previous jobs due to anger...reasons. Uh- I should not have said that. Okay. I'm pretty decent?" I said awkwardly.
I closed my eyes and inwardly cringed.
If he doesn't kick me out, I will.
"Ms. Collins?"
"Right, I'm speaking. Let me start over." I stated.
He nodded.
"I am not a great employee, but I'm trying. I need the job, and I'm going to work hard for it. I'm punctual, and I make a decent cup of coffee. I have no one to be tied to, so I'm pretty much available all the time, and well, I have my degree in this file so..."
Noah's sea-green eyes met mine.
"Why should I employ you, and not one of the other candidates who showed up?" He asked.
"Listen, I want the job. I have a business degree in economics, but I've never worked in a business field before. This is pretty much my opportunity to maybe try and succeed at something I've wanted since I was a child, and all I know is that if I don't suit the categories you're looking for, you can always fire me." I answered him sincerely.
He put his pen down on the desk and leaned back on his chair. His arms were folded across his chest, and he was deep in thought.
Anxiety started rising in my chest, and I prayed to get the job.
"You're employed."
I was positive that with the slip-up I mentioned earlier, I wasn't going to get the PA position, so my response was pretty much immediate.
"Okay, maybe next time- WHAT?" I shrieked.
"You're hired. You got the job."
"I got the job? I got the job! I did it!" I jumped up from my chair and squealed happily.
I sat back down. "Wait, don't you want to see my files?"
"Nope."
I frowned.
"Are you joking with me?"
"I do not joke with such matters, Ms. Collins." He said with a straight face.
Any sign that the guy from last night was not a figment from my imagination disappeared from my memory.
"So, what am I supposed to do now?"
"Sophie's waiting for you outside, she'll help you get settled in."
"Do I start today?"
"I clearly just said that you'll be settled in for today, you'll start working tomorrow." He declared, anger creeping up his voice.
