I had to come up with an excuse and fast. I wasn't expecting Garnet to suddenly ask me why I was thinking about the other Diamonds.

"I asked you a question, Rose."

I couldn't answer it. I just couldn't. Every second that passed, Garnet was starting to become super annoyed with me. I feared that if I didn't answer soon, Garnet would refuse to talk to me.

I thought up the best excuse I could a few minutes later. "Garnet." I spoke up in a nervous voice as I turned towards the fusion. "I was just thinking about the Diamonds because they just came to mind." I lied. "That's all."

Garnet seemed to accept that. She turned and headed down the hill.

I sighed in relief as I turned back towards Pearl and smiled at her. Garnet didn't find out the truth and that was a good thing. Pearl looked up at me, a quizzical look on her face.

"Did she find out the truth after you spoke to her?"

"No." I say as I move to sit down on the hill. "Thankfully, she didn't. I was a little bit worried that she was though."

"That's good." Came Pearl's response. She sat herself down next to me. "Did she know why you're thinking about the other Diamonds, my Quartz?"I shake my head no and Pearl looks up towards the nightsky, her eyes on the stars that had only just now come out.

"Tell you what." Pearl says as she lays herself down. "Tomorrow, well try to figure out what's going on with you, my Quartz."

I smile at her. "That's a great idea, Pearl."

"Thank you, my Quartz."
