The joke shop closed up much later than it was supposed to but not once did George feel tired or lazy. He decided to check up on t all the isles once before finally closing up only to find Mariana looking at the fireworks. Her eyes were beaming at them and her lips curved upwards like a little kid who just found her favorite toy. George smiled at her fascination and amusement as she tried to reach it but her short height didn't let her.

George walked towards her as she tried to get hold of it by jumping up and down.
"These shelves will fall on you if you do that. They're very light" He said softly while reaching up to the fireworks and handing them to her. Their hands brushed each other's as their eyes refused to look away. Mariana had never felt this emotion before and she wasn't sure if she liked it.

"Lemme show you how these work" George said, "on the roof"
They both went up to the roof of the shop and Marian bought some snacks with her because who could say no to food?

"Madame" George bowed in front of Mariana as he pointed to a place for her to sit. Mariana sat down smiling at him.
He lit the fireworks one by one as they shot up and watched the show. Mariana was flustered. She never remembered what fireworks were like. Her eyes were glowing as she looked at them. George? He was looking at her reaction, her grin, her glow.

A few minutes later, the show was over and George sat down next to his roommate but Mariana was still moved. She looked at George who was talking about his other products with so much happiness. She noticed how his eyes gleamed and how his smile was so wide, it made his cheeks red, how he felt so much like himself in this moment.
"What?" He tilted his head snapping Mariana out of her daze.
"Nothing.." She grinned and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Stop making that face" George chuckled.
"What face?"
"The face when you're happy,it makes me nauseous" George smirked as she laughed.
"You can't say it back to me Weasley that's against the rules!" Mariana got up from her seat as she hit the back of his head playfully.
"Ouch!" He said dramatically, "You're going down!" George said as he got up to run at her. Mariana ran around the terrace laughing.
George felt happy. He felt complete.

An hour later the two came down the stairs only to see Angelina walk in.
"Oh no! I forgot about our date!" George whisper shouted to Mariana. He froze on the spot not knowing what to do. Mariana give him a little push towards the staircase, "go!"
He quickly ran down the stairs and started apologizing and explained to his girlfriend that he got distracted.
She quickly forgave him but glanced at Mariana with a worried look.
"How can I make it up to you!?" George asked.
"Isn't verity coming back to the shop from tomorrow?" Angeline asked.
"She is.."
"Can she handle shop for sometime tomorrow? Maybe we can meet at the tea shop" Angelina looked at him with hopeful eyes, ones George couldn't possibly say no to.
"Definitely. I promise" George reaches up to Angelina and kissed her forehead.
Mariana was standing behind George hoping to go unnoticed by Angelina even though she knew she couldn't.
"I'll see u later Mariana" Angelina smiled at her and gave her a small wave. The girl nodded back before Angelina apparated out.

"This is all your fault" George turned to Mariana jokingly.
"I hope so." Mariana winked as she walked up the stairs into her room.

Just because George Weasley was better didn't mean he as happy. That smile on his face was only temporary. Mariana couldn't bear watching him shudder and whimper every time he had night terrors. She spent many many nights soaking in his bad, negative feelings which usually left her very exhausted.

Opening up her magnificent wings, Mariana stared at her reflection. The  grey colour that was creeping towards her had now become much darker. She couldn't keep going like this but she couldn't stop either. This was her job, and somewhere between trying to read through George and being more vulnerable, she had grown attached to the red head.

Mariana closed her eyes for a minute as she took a deep breath. Suddenly flashes of visions came before her eyes. A cloak - Harry Potter - thee men - a stone - a wand. One of those men three men looked rather familiar but she coldn't pin point it.
Her eyes shot open. Why Harry Potter? She would have to find out about that.

These instances happened to be related to her past life, the life she didn't remember and shouldn't be reminded of. They had been haunting her for a while now, and every time her wings turned darker, these flashes seemed to become clearer, more familiar.

Walking down Diagon alley, Mariana could only think about the flashes that were happening before her eyes so often. She wasn't sure what she was to do to stop all of this.

Her eyes were looking to the floor when she bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry I-" she looked up to see a man, his spectacles perfectly clean and his eyes, so familiar. He was wearing a suit and she could swear she had seen him. He glanced at her and smiled.
Suddenly the flashes happened again.
The invisibility cloak
"It's quite alright" He grinned at her.
Her eyes fluttered. She knew who he was. He wasn't a Normal being. He was famous. He was known by all. The one who defeated all. But in all this thought, he had left.

Her eyes tried to find him only to see him walking into knockturn alley. She walked to a corner and spread out her grey wings as she zoomed up into the sky hoping to go unnoticed.
She followed the man with black hair and glasses into a dark alley way. It was empty and she knew that he was waiting for her.

"Hello life-ruiner" she said to him as she descended to the ground and crossed her arms over her chest with a huff.
"Your life turned out just fine!" He said, his lips still turned up. Lacuna raised her eyebrow at him and he let out a laugh. "What do u want?" she asked him.
"Coffee?" He asked, "I've always loved it"
"No" Her answer was straight and clear.
"We need to chat a bit and we need to know about you a little better"
"Stop lurking around here, you don't belong in this place"
"Neither do you, but here you are"

Mariana was confused. The strange instances happening one after the other, were the connected? Was he responsible for these?

George's smile turned into a frown when he saw Mariana obviously distressed. He didn't know what was wrong but he did know that he had to cheer her up.
Grabbing a few fireworks from his shop, George walked up to her, "Mariana! catch!" He threw the tiny firework at her and she didn't bother catching it. George walked up to her, "what's wrong?"
"Nothing, nothing is wrong-" she shook her head and George cocked a brow at her, "I was just thinking about something, what's going on with you?"
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine- don't you have a shop to run?"
"You're more important" He grinned at her. She couldn't help but smile back. Mariana had never felt to special to someone before. Her cheeks flushed and she wasn't sure what she was feeling.
She looked at George and felt her stomach tumble as he smiled.
"Well I better be" she said, collecting herself.

After much thinking, Lacuna had decided that she had to meet him. He had answers to her questions. He probably had an offer for her. She could hear him out right?
"Sit down honey! I don't bite" The man said in a sickly sweet voice. She narrowed her eyes at him but sat down nonetheless."what would you like? My treat." He asked with a grin but she wasn't having any of it. "What do you want to know about me?" Lacuna asked him.
They were both sitting in a muggle coffee shop away from all wizardkind. He chuckled ,"I don't want to know about you" He knew very well that he was right, "You want to know about you and I'm here to tell you" He told her.
Lacuna didn't say anything waiting for him to continue.
"Let me start from the beginning, introductions"
"I already know you"
"But you don't know you" He smirked. She rolled her eyes but nodded. He stretched his hand out to her and she stretched hers to shake it, "Hello Iolanthe Peverell, I'm Death. Pleasure to meet you"
