Adele was rifling through her closet trying to find something, something suitable to wear. She had to, what kind of impression would it make on Jaqueline if all weren't suitably dressed, or worse, she was the only one looking slightly outdated? What was the buzzing noise? Adele ripped through her clothes taken out to find her phone. It was Tiara. "Hello, Adele?" "Tiara, bonjour." "Ni hao. What are you wearing today?" Adele thought over her answer carefully. After all, it was Tiara Sojo, Meixiu Sojo's offspring. People knew Meimei better as Sunma-Laurent, but she was married to Alexander Sojo, and took her husband's name. "I really don't see why I shouldn't take it on," was what Meixiu answered with when some women would ask her why she would abandon such a powerful name.
"Oh hey, is it ok if Savi comes along? She was at my house anyways with her mom, so..." Damnit. Now she would have to be even more careful about what she wore. And literally everything else she did. The Te-Langs were like bloodhounds when it came to finding anything humiliating about you. And it had to be recent. This was the perfect opportunity. "Ah, euh, ouais. Sure. You can bring her along if you like." "Oh my gosh, thank you! For the record though I kinda don't want to. I had to because leaving her at my house would be off. And you know how her mom can be..." Though Adele was so sure that she was just saying that to make her feel better. In actual fact, Tiara didn't mind Saveki-Louisa at all(sometimes she did get on her nerves) and had her at her house often. "Mhm, ah, Tia, I will have to talk to you later, I am a bit rushed," Adele said, not at all acting rushed and twirling a strand of hair around her finger. Now back to the pressing issue of...what to wear so she doesn't end up potentially disgracing her bloodline.
"Jaja! Can I call you that? I'm going to call you that. Everyone call her Jaja now, that's her new nickname." Tiara Dia Sojo is really overbearing and annoying. At least, that was what was going through Jacky's head. What kind of name was Jaja? SlighShe could never dream of getting her father to call her that; speaking of him, she was going to have to recount this experience to him. Not because he wanted to hear it, but because she thought he might laugh at her inexperience with highly irritating people. "The more you want to nuke them, the more you smile," her father had said, with a straight face as his eldest left for her outing. This advice would be useful, as it was becoming more and more obvious to her that her friendship with all except Adele may not be genuine. "It's so nice to meet you finally! I've heard so much about you!" Obviously false. Tiara was not waiting to meet her and she knew NOTHING about her. She hoped. "Of course, I already knew about you." Saveki-Louisa said smugly, only because it proved she really did take after her mother. Maybe the name Noumara would've suited her better. "It's nice to meet you all. Well, I already knew Adele, and Saveki I've seen, but I've never heard of you, Tiara..Soho?" "Sojo." "Ah, ouais. Merci." Adele and even Veki-Lou were impressed. Playing the 'I'm not sure I know you, so we're on the same level now' card. Commonly used among those that met another with a higher status. "Well, nice to meet you, Tiara Sojo." And their coffee had arrived at Ylva Meher's table. The additional guest list to this coffee get-together was said Ylva Meher, who wanted to have it at her house, Ilha Harban, and Luna Becksen. Really though, they were just there to not make it seem like a loser event. To make it seem like it wasn't just a bit of initiation for the newcomer. Again, these people that were here to fill the void weren't really that high up. "So, Jaja, did you have any friends before...you know, this?" What kind of question was that? "What, this meeting? Yes. Adele. And before Adele there was Mairi Xinbao and Niella Steilsson." Jaqueline had produced a jaw-dropping answer. "Neila Steilsson? As in, Catala Industries Steilsson?" Ilha asked with her eyes jumping out of their sockets. "That's the one. You know her?" "Yes! She's only been on the cover of Vogue more than Tiara and Savi combined! What's she like?" "She's cool. Shouldn't you be asking Saveki-Louisa or Tiara? I'm sure they know Niella too." The two said girls gritted their teeth, Saveki for an extra reason(her full name was said and it didn't look like Jacky would be calling her by nicknames anytime soon), but a common shared one is that this newcomer who had suddenly managed to rise above them knew Neilla Steilsson. In person. As in, they were friends. Then Saveki had an idea. "Hey, Jaja, how do you know her? Were you a fan she just happened to notice?" Ylva and Tiara snickered, Adele mentally face-palmed. She hoped Jacky could save herself from this embarrassmen-"Like all good friendships; our moms knew each other." Oh my God. If that wasn't the best thing to come out of her mouth. "You're kidding!" Jaqueline chuckled. "No. I actually kind of wish I was, it would be less embarrassing for us. Apparently my maman went to college with Niella's mum, after they lost contact. They reunited, in a Chanel store. That is when I first met Niella. I was 10."
She said the last lines with a laugh, almost to highlight how embarrassing it was. "Have you talked to her recently though? She lives around this area you know." Saveki wouldn't quit. "Ouais, I have. In fact, she helped me figure out what to wear, and I plan to go to her house tomorrow. If you want you can see the texts before we started video call." "No, it's fine." "Ok." This was making things uncomfortable for all except Jaqueline, who wasn't really feeling smug, but she was more shocked that these people didn't hang out around Niella, especially Tiara, who was the daughter of Meixiu Sunma-Laurent, who was the younger sister of Yui Sunma-Laurent, one of the, if not the highest ranking aristocrat. She would have to tell Niella about that.
