"Merlin's beard! I barely recognized you! What's with all the... hair?" He asked.
Making horcruxes changes you, and most importantly it changes your soul and appearance. (Y/n)'s hair colour was slightly brighter if not, her hair was literally becoming white.
"It's nothing you need to worry about really," she said softly, she always hoped to see the Gryffindor boy again, but not when she was a fugitive and a criminal, "and it's not the best time either... But it's nice to see a familiar face," she started to turn her heels and walk back to the castle to meet with professor Dumbledore to drink the polyjuice potion, when she was held back by the boy's hand clamping around her waist,
"Aren't we going to talk about the fact that you're a criminal, and the most wanted witch at the moment?" He paused, "(Y/n)... Is everything alright?"
She unhooked herself from his grasp and ran back into he castle tears in her eyes. No she wasn't alright. She made a terrible mistake. A mistake that would cost her her life. She made an unbreakable vow and it's already broken. She could feel herself tearing apart every second passing by. She was wondering if Tom was feeling this ache as well. This boy doesn't have a heart. He never loved you, (Y/n) said to herself, how foolish of you to make such a childish mistake, and for a boy, oh an incredibly handsome boy. She ran and pushed past the gates of the castles, hearing echos of William's cries, calling her name. She was wondering if she would even make it out alive."Here's the potion, you'll have to come back for a refill after every meal. You posing for a new student will just make things seem rather odd, noting that it's almost the end of the year. So professor slughorn just made the appearance of a girl, that no one will pay attention to if you will, no offense," professor Dumbledore said, handing her a flask of potion, it smelled horrendous, but she had no choice, "and please, don't get involved in any romance, I hope you've learned your lesson," he said lowly.
You're wrong, my emotions make me stronger. Love is the strongest feeling. And at that moment she knew how she would defeat Tom. She needed to love him with every last bit of organ and cells of her body. It was the only plan she had. And she was going to go after it hoping it'll work, or die trying.
"Thank you professor, I know exactly how to end this. Thank you!" She exclaimed happily, and handed him back the polyjuice flask, "I must go, I need to find Tom,"
"Now hold on, young lady, where on EARTH do you think you're going?" Dumbledore asked calmly.
"I'm going to kill Tom." He still didn't look convinced, she sighed and smiled, "if I need you professor, you'll know it. I still have some tricks up my sleeve. And please send William all my love." She said before she heard a voice talking back,
"Tell William what?" Asked the soft voice of a boy, William was standing in front of the door, his head cocked slightly to his right,
"Tell me what?" He repeated, (Y/n) just smiled and tears started to sting her eyes, she ran up to him and pulled him for an embrace. His stumble, described perfectly his surprise, but he put his arms around her and pulled her closer. She could smell his cologne, strong and divine on his uniform, he sighed and pulled her out, they stared into each other's eyes, and suddenly, the world seemed to stop turning, and the time seemed to pause.
"You're the lover I never had," she said softly, slowly realising, that William was the only boy that was here for her, not for her powers. That he loved her without them. That those powers couldn't make her more special than she already was,
"No- what, what are you-" he said, but cut short by (Y/n) saying,
"Perhaps we'll meet in another life," she rested her forehead on his chin, sighing deeply as she knew what she had to do,
"No no (Y/n) What are you saying? I lost you once, I can't... not when I have you-"
"William," she cut him, "promise me, you'll love me, like you'll never see me again." (Y/n) said on a whisper, before stepping back, staring into his eyes. She saw tears forming into his sockets. He was truly what she needed, but not what she wanted. And she was too blind to see it. She just smiled sheepishly, and chuckled,
"Don't cry, it'll be over soon," she said in a smile, behind which was sadness, she reached and cupped her hands to his cheek, to which he leaned into, feeling her touch. This may be the last time.
"Kiss me like this is the last time," he pulled her wrist and she stumbled forward. He put a light kiss on her lips. Sweet but tender. It was enough. Enough to feel the pain. The pain starting to grow inside of her. She stumbled back.
"Ouch... oh... Ah...AH... AH-" she yelled in pain. She cried out, so suddenly, at this point she was screaming, to put it short it felt like swords piercing her body and someone squeezing her brain at the same time. She knew why this happened. The unbreakable vow. Love. It can work, she said. She pulled herself up, as Dumbledore and William started in disbelief and in shock at the scene unfolding before their eyes. With a flicker of her hands, both of the males were thrown to the other side of the room.
"Thank you William, it hurts to love, but it's worth the pain right?" She smiled, the frown turning into a sincere line. She turned to the other side of the room, seeing as professor tried to reach for his wand already, she didn't want to hold them longer.
"Thank you professor, for the being the best mentor, even if you feel like you've failed me. I promise you didn't. And please. Don't forget me."
She turned again and this time closed her eyes. She focused on herself. The shouts and voices turning into lost and distorted echos, the last thing she heard was,
"You're my reason for breathing,"
And then red mist enveloped the room, she shot up, through the window, breaking it into million pieces. And there goes my heart she thought. She then disappeared into Hogwarts, flying into the daylight, and watching the sun starting to set.
It'll all be over.
