Aangs brother, The forbidden Avatar

chapter three

( This part takes place the day of the invasion,the day of back sun )

"So tell me how your gonna do this" Koda asked Sokka as Aang went to shave his head. "Well,since the eclipse wiil leave the fire nation powerless were gonna attack with a small army with some people we met around the earth Kingdom and while we stall the army ,Aang will face the fire lord" sokka explained."wait. . .him alone?!?" Koda said loudly and with anger " well he is the avata-" "so am I!! And I'm his brother I'm going to have his bac- " Koda felt a hand on his shoulder ,Aang was behind him " no Koda ,I'm doing this alone. . .if I die the world will need an avatar to take my place. . ." he said seriously as Koda looked at him with teary eyes. "Well then!your crazy and stupid!!!" He yelled as he actually started to cry alittle. Aang sighed " I'm sorry it has to be this way, you know that we where born to take one of the others place if something was to happen to me or you" Koda just stared as his brother when he said those words " so your saying one of us wasn't ment to be here?!" Aang was getting angry at Koda due to the stress on his shoulders with the invasion. " Well we both know I was born the avatar ,like the monks said your the FORBIDDEN one!!your not even sopose to use any of the elements except your birth one!!" Aang yelled at him which made Koda shut his mouth and stare at Aang whide eyed with tears running down his cheeks " well sorry for careing about you!!!I should be dead but no!you had to run away and hide for 100 years!! And the only reason I'm still here is cause I went to find you and got kidnapped by some fire benders and I threw myself overboard , airbending a spear around myself to breath! So if you can say that why don't you just kill me!?!?huh?!?" At that moment kodas eyes went a faint purpelish ,blue colour and his arrows glowed the same colour as he walked off in the avatar state. Aang realized what he said and looked at sokka "protect him for me. . .as a favour okay?" He asked him and sokka smiled "sure Aang, I'll do it for you" Aang returned the smile as he walked to the ships and down into the sumberaren while sokka quickly went to get Koda. " Hey Koda,were going now" he said as kodas arrows and eyes stopped glowing and he nodded getting up and walked with sokka looking hurt. . .really hurt and sokka noticed " you know,Aang asked me to protect you funny right?" Sokka said getting on one of the ships with Koda. " Yeah since I can take care of myself. . ." He replied looking away from sokka. "So? Are Toph and Katara good teachers?" Sokka asked him trying to lighten the mood " yeah,I've already learned the basics of both water and earth" Koda slightly smiled as he turned his head back." Can I tell you something sokka?" Koda said looking him dead in the eyes as sokka went alittle red noticed his eyes did really shine as the light reflected on them like crystals "s-sure" he stuttered out . " I lied to Aang about not being able to fire bend. . . . I've already mastered it but he can't learn from me cause . . .I almost killed someone I shot them right threw the arm outta rage. . . I was so close to there heart. . ." Koda said as he clenched his fists and looked away , a single tear ran down his cheek. Sokka didn't speak untill he had the right words then turned koda to him and looked at him sturnly "Aang will love you no matter what he's your brother, tattoos and all ,avatar or not! He use to talk about you all the time! About how much he missed you,loved you ,how smart and beautiful you are and the only reason he wants me to protect you is cause he didn't want to leave the fire nation with out the twin brother he loves so dearly! For all we know he stayed up crying every night thinking he let you die . . . That's why Aang said those things. . .why he did this. . . He loves you with all his heart,he's gonna come back alive , don't worry" after sokka finished Kodas eyes lit up brightly and he looked at the sky "thank you sokka,now I know what I need to do " Koda kissed sokkas cheek then picked up the glider he had fixed from the storm 100 years ago and smiled and looked at sokka once more "tell Aang he find me at the Western Air temple" and with that he threw the glider and flew off leaving sokka holding his cheek and then he smiled and yelled " I WILL!!" As he watched him he knew Aang with be hurt but glad his brother is safe.

(After the invasion )

"YOU LET HIM GO ALONE?!?!" Aang yelled at sokka as they flew away on Appa "well, he said you find him at the Western Air temple" sokka replied as Aang roles his eyes " Yeah! But he could of been shot down!!" Aang was angry with sokka untill they got to the western air temple and Aang got off and went to find his twin brother and he regretted everything he said to him thinking something worse happend to him "KODA!!!!" Aang yelled despretly for Koda as he looked around ,foot steps came from the hallway of the temple,he turned and got ready to attack due to not knowing who it was but as the person showed themselves Aang couldn't believe his eyes. Koda stood there in new clothing,hair cut shifters d we t to his ears but he was bleeding and had a cut across his blue eye " Aang I'm sorr--" Aang hugged his brother before he could finish and Koda hugged back holding the sobbing Air be Der in his arms as his tears made a wet circle on his clothes but he didn't care he tryed to calm Aang down but when he did Aang fell asleep on his shoulder.koda walked back to the others and they saw his state and he placed Aang on Appas tail to sleep."what happend to you Koda?" Katara asked as she walked over to heal him but he stopped her and started to heal his cuts himself by using the water from the fonton , katara stared in shock " I never showed you how to heal your scars" Koda looked at her seeing her shocked face " I already know how to . . . I. . .I'm not who you think I am. . ." He said as the others staired at them. "Them who are you blue?" Toph asked him in a intinating voice . " Yes,I'm Aangs brother,yes I'm the Forbidden Avatar but I already know all the elements. . .I lied to Aang . . . To protect him. . .he can't learn from me . . .he needs to be reached by an pure water bender like katara ,a pure earth bender like Toph and a pure fire bender. . . If I teach him his bending will. . . ." Koda stopped him self and staired at the others. "His bending will what?!" Katara said angry now knowing he lied to them the hole time. " HIS BENDING WILL GO DARK!!" Koda yelled as gray wind formed around them,the water turned red,black fire formed around his feet,and the stone beneath him went all cracked and the water flowed outta the cracks but most importantly. . . His avatar state was no longer that purpleily,blue colour. . .his eyes went black and so did his arrows as they had a red glow around them.koda breathed heavily as he fell to the ground everything stopping but the cracks in the stone stayed the black fire stayed burning and half or the water was still blood red and everyone was shocked and scared but sokka only felt bad for him ,not being able to live a normal life ,jeez not even a normal avatars life! Katara walked up to the water and touched it she tryed bending the blood red liqued and she could but she took a breath in and breathed out and took a small taste of it and it tasted like nomal water. . . It just changed colour . . ."it's water but a different colour, we're lucky it's not ummm . . . You know . . . " She said reviewing to say the words of what she thought it was. "Blood?" Toph fineshed for her "yes,thank you Toph " katara said folding her eyes."no proplem!" Toph smiled cheekily as sokka picked Koda up and sat on the ground with him in his lap and cleaned up the rest of his cuts,human way and then put him beside Aang as he slept. The other then deceded who was gonna tell Aang behind kodas back but sokka knew that wasn't right but he can't say anything. . .
