Nevio
Fuck, the police are not our most favorite visitors. Especially when we have five bodies to get rid of. I'm hoping they came in from the right side because Chris made a mess back there. Normally we get along well. No conflicts between us unless it's about whores and even then, I always get my way. He has this habit of treating me like his younger brother when I'm two years older than him. And I let him because I like being taken care of. What I don't like is cleaning up after him. Shooting those guys was a bad call. After we finish dealing with the police, I'll sit him down and give him a piece of my mind.
"Keep your cool Chris. I don't want to have to bail you out of jail"
"Why the hell are the police here? Since when do they have the guts to visit my house without an invitation?"
"Okay, so you're not going to calm down. I will deal with them. Don't worry"
"Nev, do I look worried?"
No. He looks pissed and ready to raise hell. I can't let him do that. For a second I contemplate punching him and knocking him out cold but then think better of it. When he comes to later, he could kill me. While I might deserve it, Tommaso doesn't deserve to grow up without a father. His mother already abandoned him. I can't do that to him too.
"No Chris. You don't look worried at all"
"It's because I'm not. Let's go" he tries to walk past me but I hold out my hand, blocking his way.
"Whatever you're about to do, remember that Tommaso is here somewhere. And that he needs both of us" that works. Chris blinks finally getting a hold of himself. I've never been so proud of my son as I am right now. He's the one person we would both die protecting and I'm glad I can use him once in a while to talk Chris out of doing something stupid. He takes a deep breath, squares his shoulders then nods. Telling me that he's good. Together we walk downstairs to find two police men standing in our living room. Antonio and Pepito, two of my guys are behind them blocking their way out. I think they realize their mistake judging from the looks of horror on their faces.
"Gentlemen, how can I help you?" Chris asks stopping in front of them. It's two against four now.
"We got a call that there was an abandoned car in this area with a dead body in it" one of the men says. He looks like the ballsy one between the two. I would have been impressed if I didn't hear his voice quiver. Anyone who has the privilege of standing in front of Nevio D'Agostino and Christopher De Luca better have the decency to at least be scared. Otherwise it makes me feel like I've wasted a lot of time working out. I don't like wasting time.
"Oh yeah? Care to tell us who made the call? Better yet why don't you tell them to come here and show us where that car is? I'd like to see it too" I say, straightening to stand up to my full height. At 6'2, I tower over the average man. Hell I have a few inches on Chris, which means these two assholes look like ants from where I'm standing. Do you know what we do to ants? Squash them with our boots. They're not even worth our time.
"Look, someone called in and it's protocol to check out a....."
"We are so sorry sirs" his partner says, clearly the clever one "We didn't know where we were going until we got here. We've checked out the call and it was a prank. If you will excuse us, we'll be on our way. We were never here sir"
I think I like this guy. Even though they've excused themselves, they don't try to turn their backs on us "Good. Thank you for your hard work officer. Pepito, please see these gentlemen out" I want them out of our house before Chris decides to blow their brains out. I used Tommaso to calm him down but he's the kind of guy who lashes out when he's angry. Between the two of us, I don't know who's worse.
