De Luca

My house looks like a war zone. Starting from the front gate all the way to the door are dead bodies lying on the side walk. Some are my guys and the rest I assume are Lombardi's. I will get him back for the guys he just killed but right now all I can think about is Marianna and Tommaso. I don't wait for Fabian to park. I get out of the car and rush inside. Those fuckers weren't here to just kill people, it seems like they came here to destroy my property too. The chairs have holes in them, the TV is down on the floor together with my sound system. Everything is trash, nothing survived. I'm so angry and scared. I've been trying to call Nev for hours now and he's not picking up.

I'm scared that Lombardi took him. He could be lying dead somewhere and Tommaso? God, I run straight to his room. The door is open. That could mean two things, he's either lying in there in a pool of his own blood or they took him. I search everywhere, the closet, under the bed, bathroom, balcony but he's not here. I can't lose both Nev and Tommaso at the same time. And Marianna? I left her in the tub. Fuck, why did I leave? I should have stayed with her. She's Lombardi's daughter but he implied that he'd kill her.

If you hurry you might catch her before she takes her last breath.

That asshole doesn't bluff. I know what he's capable of, I've seen what he's done to her. Who's to say he isn't capable of killing her? I stumble out of Tommaso's room and stop outside hers. The door's open too. I don't have to go inside to know it's empty. But I still do. I want to make sure she's not lying somewhere taking her last breath. Taking small steps, I go in my eyes looking everywhere at once. Aside from a few clothes on the floor and a towel on the bed, nothing is out of the ordinary. At least they didn't touch anything. Now is not the time to let my fear take over. I'm going to hope that she's fine and if they happened to take her and Tommaso, I just have to get to them. Until then, they'll take care of each other.

Leaving her room, I walk across the hallway to mine. I grab the knob and push the door open only to be met with resistance. I'm taken aback for a second then it hits me that Marianna might still be in there. Otherwise who would lock the door from the inside?

"Marianna? Open the door baby, it's me" I shout pounding my fists on it "Marianna!" there's no answer. Even though it's locked, images of her lying on my bed with a bullet hole in her head flit through my mind. Most of the doors in this house are almost impenetrable but mine is bigger and thicker. It would take hours for anyone to get through it. But even then I kick and use my shoulders to try and open it.

"Sir" someone says from behind me.

"Help me break down this door. Go and bring me a chainsaw, grenade, bazooka, anything I can use to take it down" I tell him turning around to face him "Hurry up" I snap when he doesn't make a move to leave

"Sir, there's no one in there. They left through the secret passageway"

"They? They who?" I ask holding my breath. Please let it be...

"Tommaso and your girlfriend. There was another woman with them too. I sent them to your mother's house"

I sag against the door. They're fine. Both of them are okay. Only me, Tommaso and Nev can use that door which explains why this one is locked from the inside. But if they're at my mother's place, why hasn't she called me to tell me that? Taking out my phone I dial her number heading towards the stairs. I have to see them for myself and make sure they're not hurt.

"Christiano"

"Mamma, how is Tommaso? Is he okay?"

"He's fine. They got here twenty minutes ago"

"Okay, I'm on my way" I hang up and go in search of Fabian. He's waiting beside the car as if he knew I'd be back

"Where to sir?" he asks opening the door for me.
