De Luca

The appearance of Giovanni makes perfect sense. Every piece fits into the puzzle perfectly now. On my way here I kept wondering how she could have done it on her own. She only had Paulo and her two maids. Alone, they wouldn't have accomplished anything. Stealing merchandise from me required them to have a lot of money to begin with. They'd need trucks, a place to store the stolen goods and men. The kind that won't make mistakes. She would have also needed to pay them a good sum to work for her. I know she's Lombardi's daughter, but there's no way she would have had the money to do all that.

Unless she'd been in cahoots with Carina. Now if they had my five million dollars, this could be done easily. It wouldn't have been a problem. Except I've seen just how much Marianna hated Carina. She didn't want to live in the same house with her. Let alone striking deals with each other, I think they'd rather die than work together. But having Giovanni Florenrino on her side? I don't know how she managed to do that.

The guy has been working for Lombardi for as long as I can remember. You don't work for someone that long if they trust you. Did Lombardi know about his betrayal? Is there even one or is this guy just trying to keep his former boss's daughter alive? If I had any children, I'd expect Nev to do whatever it takes to keep them safe. From the looks of it, Giovanni is doing the same. He's the kind of man who will work for the Lombardis until his last breath. Good for him and even better for Marianna. Since he's been working alongside Lombardi, he knows everything about the business. He'll teach her what she needs to know.

Fuck, I need to stop being concerned about her. She's turning me into a pussy who worries about her all the time. I just found out she's holding Nev hostage. In all honesty, I ran here in the hopes of finding him in the basement or just somewhere. I was so sure Lombardi was the one holding him hostage. The second we all realized he was dead, we started moving. I was closest to the door so it was easier to get here first. Despite my leg which Fabian tied dressed, I had to at least come here and make a claim on the organization. Like Russo said, I have no need for it. Mine is enough.

Although, expanding wouldn't hurt. I could use more money, we all could. But I had no intention of ever taking the Lombardi organization under my wing. So why am I still standing here? It's clear Giovanni's men outnumber us. I've got at least five red dots on my chest meaning if they want me dead, I will be dead. Thing is I won't leave without Nev. Marianna has him and she'll give him back to me before the end of the night.

"You son of a bitch, I should have known you'd do this" Russo snarls. He's someone else I wasn't expecting. Out of the three of them, he always struck me as the cool headed one. Guess he didn't like Lombardi that much.

"Do what Russo? Protect my boss's daughter?"

"No, be so power hungry. We all know she doesn't know shit. You're just going to use her to get what you want. Clever, she's going to be the pretty face while in reality you will be the one in charge"

That makes sense too. Since she's a Lombardi, people are more likely to accept her than Giovanni. But she also doesn't know how things work. This bastard could take advantage of that. He could make himself indispensable, so that Marianna won't know what to do without him. That's where he'll get the real power. It will be so easy to manipulate her. Scratch that, it would be so easy to manipulate another woman. Marianna on the other hand? I don't think she'll make it so easy for him. Somehow I have a feeling she's going to turn this entire organization upside down. A lady boss in the mafia is unheard of. She'll be the first and boy, I can't wait to see what she has in store for us.

"I don't care what you think Russo. As always, only my boss's opinion matter. As of now, Doña Marianna is my boss"

"You are such a kiss ass. Fine. Let's see how long this will last, how long she will be your boss" turning around he barks "Let's go" he's not stupid. Knowing when to step back is what keeps most people alive in this business. If you can't beat them, join them.
