Alderidge Academy is one of the city's most premier private schools anyone could attend. Most students would say you're lucky to get in and most teachers would be blessed to even teach there for a day. Ivan's friends often tell him that he's extremely fortunate to be top of his class. Some may say that his parents pulled the strings and that he's as not as smart and talented as everyone says he is. For all he knew, maybe they did pull the strings. After all, they do own the school. They fund the school, his mother is president of the board, and his father is the headmaster. The school has been in his family for years, and Ivan was next in line to inherit "the throne" if you would even call it that.
Ivan had to be picture perfect, otherwise he do not represent the school or the family well. The school seems to be like his father's child, and Ivan was just an advertisement and an heir. Ivan did not, in any way, shape, or form, feel like his father's son.
The rules were simple: do not go out, be the top of your class, no distractions.
Luckily, Ivan's mother does make me feel like a priority. If it weren't for his mother, Ivan was pretty sure he would have been driven to madness by his father. She always made time for him and cheers me up. Sometimes he thought she understood him better than his own friends.
Now, as a result of Ivan's 'golden boy' social status bestowed upon him as a result of his grades, extra-curricular excellence, and talents in the arts and in sports, it's only natural for him to have some amount of popularity. Everyone would smile and wave in the hallway as if he was a prince passing through their humble town. He also had a mass following of fanboys and fangirls, some of which didn't even attend his school. And as cliché is it will seem, Ivan also constantly had to deal with girls having heart-eyes for him.
It's honestly never really bothered Ivan, as he have gotten used to it over the years. Eventually it would die down right?
However, despite all the girls Ivan could choose from, there was one girl. He knew her since he was a child. Her mom was a lawyer and a close friend of the family since their school days. They spent time together whenever their parents had dinner parties. Ivan and her would play together in primary school, and they used to talk about our dreams. She was quiet and reserved. She was smart and kind. She would speak her mind when necessary and say nothing when she needed to. She was Ivan's first love.
They drifted apart during middle school, and when high school started, they became strangers.

I hope you guys liked chapter two! Sorry this chapter is shorter. Most of the first couple of chapters are rather short as they set up the situations for later events in the story. Please be patient haha. I hope you vote and comment and give me suggestions! I really want to improve my writing and see your ideas and predictions.
