* Avanis POV *
" are you actually him. She won't believe it. Listen, your sister is something else.." I say but he interrupts me
" I don't care. She is my family. She is the only family I have left Avani." He says with pleading eyes
" you don't understand! She isn't a happy go lucky person. She is not a happy person. She is very sad but she won't show it. She is losing her memories of you and y'alls parents. Christopher... I'm sorry to tell you this.. but all she has left of you is a picture of y'all before the purge. She doesn't even remember your name." I say getting quiet in the end.
" w-what..? She doesn't remember me..?" He says as a tear slips out causing me to wipe it away and pull him into a hug.

He cries on my shoulder making my heart break. I look at Payton and mouth " go get my phone". Once he comes back I open it up and show Christopher a picture of her. He smiles weakly and sniffles.

" I'm going to go home and talk to Carmen. I'm going to try to get her to listen to me. I will talk to you tomorrow before the purge.. I promise. Everything is going to be okay." I say as he pulls away and nods

I get up and hug Payton tightly. My heart hurts. I know what is fixing to happen but she has to know. Payton leads me to his car and opens the door for me. The ride back is silent. We pull into the driveway and I let out a uneven breath.

" how bad is this fixing to be..." Payton ask me as he opens my door
" will you come with me please.." I ask him causing him to interlock our dinners and open the front door
" Carmen!! Come down here!" I yell as we walk in

She comes down the stairs and glares at Payton. She walks over to him and pushes him against the wall.

" what did you do." She says threatening
" nothing. Now get off me." Payton says causing her to pull out her knife and hold it to his throat
" don't you ever disrespect me in my house. I don't give a shit who you are." She hisses
" Carmen. Calm down. Please. I have to tell you something very important." I say pulling her away from Payton.
" Carmen, we found him." I say causing her to furrow her eyebrows
" who? Rossco?" She says making me pissed
" no Carmen. We didn't find the fucking dog we had three years ago. I found you brother." I say causing her to narrow her eyes at me
" don't joke about that. That shit isn't funny." She says shaking her head at me
" Carmen I'm not joki-"
" SHUT THE FUCK UP. FUCK YOU AVANI. GET THE FUCK OUT. GO STAY WITTH YOUR GODDAMN BOYFRIEND." Her voice booms causing me to jump back into Payton's arms
" Carmen.." I say quietly
" Leave. Now. You crossed the fucking line." Her venomous words cut through me making my eyes water

I walk out of the house with Payton close behind. I get in his car and put my head in my hands. Payton gets in the car and drives away to his house. Once we get there we quietly head up to his room so no one can ask questions. Once we get inside I break down. Payton holds me to his chest as I cry. He rocks me back and forth causing me to fall asleep.

* Carmen's POV *
I can't believe her. She did this once. I trusted her. I got my fucking hopes up. He wasn't my brother. He didn't even have a sister. I can't believe she would pull this bullshit again. I forgave her the first time.. I won't do this shit again. She had the nerve to do this. Fucking hell. My hands are shaking and I can't breath. I reach for my phone and call Avani. She picks up immediately

" Carmen are you okay? I'm surprised you're calling Avani after what you said earlier." Payton's voice rings through the phone
" p-pay-ton a-ava-ni" my frantic voice manages to get out
" Carmen?! Carmen are you okay?! I'm on my way." Payton says quickly
" I C-can't br-breathe" I gasp as I reach for my inhaler over the mess I've created through my outbreak of anger
" Carmen it's okay, I'm coming. Stay on the phone with me, okay?" Payton's frantic voice says in my ear
" o-ok-kay" I gasp trying to get words out, I panic more when I realize that I left my inhaler down the stairs
